Who is better? He’s the best below the rim scorer I’ve ever seen and he has credible 3 pt range. He’s an absolute marvel when he’s locked in which sadly isn’t often
you’re not wrong, they’ve been too good too draft super high and not good enough to be a contender, but guys like Keldon Johnson, Vassell, Poetl, Primo, etc are too good to get a top 2 pick next year even if they trade Murray. not to mention pop as a coach.
Seems like a good fit since there will be plenty of shooting around him and a pick and roll threat at C.
One of the guys on The Athletic saying the Pistons don't plan on giving out any huge money this offseason and will look for bridge guys which is kinda surprising
That's been the report since the draft. Guess they probably don't want to max Ayton since they drafted Duren. Maybe they don't think Bridges is worth a max offer or think it'll be matched. Outside that not sure who would be worth a big offer who'd realistically be interested in going to Detroit. Wouldn't shock me if they made a run at a guy like Portis. They could also just let the young guys gel a year and keep cap flexibility until next offseason and make a run at someone then
In their defense they usually get every trade for thirty cents on the dollar, so it’s not unreasonable to expect Kyrie for Russ or a MLE.
Wall George Leonard Powell Covington Kennard Jackson its a pretty diverse core but they definitely need to land another big in FA, after Zubac there isn't really any other options
Don't think these moves have any bearing on their cheapness. Both are useful players at reasonable prices. The cheapness will be when they fail to use the TPE and dump assets to get below the tax at the deadline
I really don't think people understand how RFA works. You have a deadline to reach an extension if that deadline passes then you can only tender a qualifying offer so that the player becomes a restricted free agent and you can match any contract they sign with another team. If you don't tender that offer then they become an unrestricted free agent and can sign anywhere. The qualifying offer amount is also set in stone. So extending one doesn't imply cheapness but failing to match an offer might.
Waiting to see offers on a guy who averages 2.3 ppg for his career and can easily be replaced doesn't imply cheapness
