I like how petty Woj is where he and any other NBA people at ESPN just pretend news he didn't break didn't happen.
JVG being so protective of Jackson is why we'll never get rid of him on these broadcasts. Because that has to be the only reason Jackson still has a job and continues to do these games.
This is a really excellent article about MPJ's determination through his back injuries, acceptance of what he lost as a player, and finding meaning in his struggle. Some good quotes from MPJ throughout. Everyone should read it because it's a good sports story but also RonBurgundy specifically should https://www.theringer.com/nba-finals/2023/5/31/23742962/michael-porter-jr-denver-nuggets
Mirin Fader, Serat Sohi and Michael Pina are all good writers but they suck on pods. That MPJ article is awesome
It's been really cool to watch him grow as a person and a player. I think if you had a beer with him and he was comfortable he'd admit he didn't really buy in early in his career and was stubborn to accept his role on the team. I don't think he's fully there yet but he's come such a long way.
weird to hear people wax poetic about michael "vaccines are being used to control the population and i've never had a vaccine in my life" porter jr hope he breaks his back and then dies of measles
hope the blazers Bowie/Oden another high lottery pick and then ownership decides to relocate the franchise to Pittsburgh
1. Not my money 2. Not Ollie 3. I mean who is an elite coach at this point? Certainly no one available or anyone who'd consider the pistons. Think that was probably best case scenario for them
I don’t think he’s a bad coach, I’m just not super sure he’s all that much above league average. He seems like a super good dude, so I hope he’s successful, that just seems like a wild amount of money.
MPJ made the "control the population" comment in July 2020 about COVID, not about the vaccine. At the time he said this he had recently turned 22. As far as I'm aware he hasn't made any public comments about the vaccine since late 2021. I don't even know if he's still unvaxed. If he's still against it, that's certainly not good, but at least he's keeping his mouth shut about it. Regardless, his story of growth through adversity can still be interesting and worthwhile.
Always weird when there's not a team you're rooting for or against. So hopefully a villain emerges and/or we get some classics
Spo is the real villain for not resigning when it is clear he doesn’t know what he is doing as a coach
He has moved down my list of hated nba players by a couple of spots. at least his existence in the league isn’t detrimental to the way basketball is played, like that complete flopping, foul-seeking addict of a donkey Trey Young.
I’m sorry but I just can’t overcome that Mizzou stink that MPJ has on him to appreciate any of his accomplishments
S-tier cute line from Jeff "My second oldest, Jasmine, she received an award from her classmates the other day “for being an amazing person.” (I’m serious.) So it’s a similar dynamic at home to at work, where I’m surrounded by superstars and I’m the role-player vet."
I have a promo bet from the Sportsbook where I can bet anything at +100 so I’m just digging for the most advantageous line. Looks like +1.5 is as far as they go for alternate lines in the Nuggets direction now, there was 2.5 previously. Normally it’s -450 if I want to take the Nuggets at that line.
Agree, that’s the direction I’m gonna go I think. I could see the Nuggets possibly coming out cold after such a long break, even though I don’t think it’s likely.
Miami lost 1 in round one. 2 in round 2. 3 in round 3. 4 in round 4? Congrats Denver. It’s been decided
Only concern for Jokic scoring 20 is a blowout with the heat playing their first game after a 7 game series at altitude
Draftkings Sportsbook is just offering me any bet at +100 for only a max of $25 bet, though. But it’s locked in:
The Heat have lost six games this postseason. Three of them have been by 13+. Including two in last series. They are perfectly capable of being blown out of a game by the best offense in the NBA.
With Adebayo on Jokic who the hell is guarding Gordon? I feel like he's going to eat all series on putbacks, oops, midrange cuts, etc.
