Didn’t watch the other games, but I watched last night. He just kind of awkwardly slithers to the basket and gets hacked a ton. Also the FT/FG disparity thing is dumb. You don’t get charged with a FG attempt if your shot misses but you were fouled.
NBA teams using mop buckets for icing? What in the Major League's Cleveland Indians is this cheap shit?
I mean, I get it...but you'd think they'd have something not repurposed. Every owner in the league is a multi-billionaire; they should have some sort of self-cleaning ice system built in to every fucking locker in the room.
Reaves said it himself, he watched a lot of Harden and Trae Young footage to learn how to get fouled a lot
I’d agree more if it was Davis or D-Lo. But idk if the league is rolling out the star treatment for Austin Reaves.
It seems like the key is to snap your head back and yowl. Doesn’t matter where you we’re actually fouled, if that motion makes sense, or if you were actually fouled the head snap triggers a Pavlovian whistle urge in homo refferus.
– Lakers FTAs before 1/29/23 - 1270 over 50 games (25.4 FTAs/game) – Lakers Opp. FTAs before 1/29/23 - 1122 over 50 games (22.4 FTAs/game) – Lakers FTAs since 1/29/23 (post-Lebron meltdown during Celtics game) - 671 FTAs over 23 games (29.1 FTAs/game) – Lakers Opp. FTAs since 1/29/23 - 432 FTAs over 23 games (18.7 FTAs/game) Lakers averaged 46.3 drives per game from the start of the season through the end of January and have averaged 42.3 drives per game since then.
Dame on the Knicks would seem fun on the surface but an aging star PG is just a little too Knicksy. Him going for 60+ in the Garden would be amazing though
it would def be a variation of that Westbrook meme. “Dame, fights through the screen. Circles back to the logo, fires…BANG! Dame Lillard from 40 feet!! Brings the Knicks to within 25.”
One of the weirdest things in NBA basketball is that fanbases of 29 teams all agree that the Lakers get a very obviously favorable whistle while Lakers fans just, like, pretend everyone else is wrong.
I would think so. He hasn't really shown any signs of decline but the back end of that contract could potentially be crippling
Or some team would have to have several bad contracts and be willing to gut its drafts for the next 5+ years or whatever to make it work
Lue was on the ‘skers team with future Knick PG Erick Strickland. I saw Strickland dunk all over us when he played hs ball at Bellevue
Did SGA get hurt or coaching that dumb to not get him back in the early 4th before the game became a blowout
If Trae's going to do that I would start making the fouls count. Leave bruises and tag him with solid shots a couple times a game and see if he gets the message.
Weren't some of these plays supposed to be offensive fouls or no calls based on the rules emphasis before last season? Or am I imagining that?
I don't know what Mario Chalmers said about LeBron, but I feel like he took enough shit over the four years he played with the big three down there that he earned the right to be able to throw a jab or two at some point. I don't think I've ever seen a player publicly thrown under the bus by guys like he was back then, regardless of whether it was deserved or not.
It’s like watching a car accident in slow motion. Or more like a fender bender. And the driver keeps backing up and accelerating back into something.
