I don't think I've ever seen an entire thread go in so unanimously on something. Well, not since yesterday, when everyone cooked Udoka for doing Nia wrong in the first place.
could not agree more and i guess everyone loves old zany pseudo resistance lib cubes so guess it’s not a big deal
why would someone like SAS be worried about anyone holding him accountable when it has never happened before?
I said this when the Sarver stuff came out, it’s a damn shame that it was a different environment when the Knicks lost their $50M sexual harassment lawsuit.
I've listened to some of the Redick pod with Simmons. At one point he asks him about "the narrative" regarding his inability to shoot. I would just like to say that my lack of playing in the NBA is due to the narrative that I lack size, athleticism and skill. This is not a good interview from the stuff I've heard and is the problem with these athlete pods. And I already knew that about most guys, but JJ is usually better than this.
Twitter tells me that SAS got snippy with Malika Andrews today on First Take, so now I want him fired.
No no, the guy who intentionally brands himself as THE hands-on owner didn't know that his main guy was asking female subordinates if they were going to get gangbanged over the weekend
the reporting on this from Woj that it was a consensual relationship without mentioning the now reported sexual harassment was kind of gross spin
Well the 2nd or 3rd most important person in a corporate structure fucking subordinates isn't that big of a deal Or maybe it will get you fired in pretty much any other situation
This is by far their most balanced roster since drafting Murray and Jokic. They need to stay remotely healthy and it would be a fun ride.
I guess my beef is more with the way that the league is covered in my own personal twitter feed Jokic didn't get traded but it's being bombarded like he was
nba media and nba Twitter really throw all morals out the window if it is a player or coach they consider a star. it is pretty gross. Shams did the same thing with the Kyrie situation when we were still at a phase in the pandemic when it was really wreckless to have one of the most notable stars in the League saying that message publicly
The reporting from Woj and Shams was bad originally, but I also think it was dumb for a lot people to think this was only about a consensual relationship just because the original reporting from two known children when it comes to breaking that kind of news didn't mention anything more. And I don't say that to suggest Udoka sleeping with someone in the org shouldn't be a serious matter. But there are a ton of examples out there that make it clear pro sports teams aren't exposing themselves to this kind of thing just for a consensual relationship.
he brought up if it was consensual why then is Ime the only one being suspended. And she called him out asking why we need to go that route and be back tracked and got upset that she would insinuate that he would blame the woman.
It’s clearly only a preliminary suspension while they investigate further. Have little doubt he’ll never coach the Celtics again.
This is my read on it, as well. If what happened here is worse than what is being reported, then the suspension is likely a place holder while they try to get their ducks in a row to allow them to fire him with cause. If that isn't what they are doing, then I'm kind of confused as to how they think this can work.
This is the confusing part to me. He did something that warranted a suspension but now people are saying it was 100x worse and they only suspended him? It’s odd how quickly it went from “How you gonna suspend him for that” to “how is that only a suspension?”
Is the full investigation over? If not, it makes sense to suspend him for what you know but not fire him for legal reasons
Udoka's camp definitely leaked it. If he was going down regardless why not muddy the water for when they try to go after his money.
Rumored to be hooking up with the VP of finance wife in a consensual relationship or is there more to the story? https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-...o-lynch-wife-of-celtics-vp-patrick-lynch/?amp
him saying they didn’t get compensation for moving an assistant to head coach wasaugb out loud funny.
Listened to a couple of podcasts last night on the drive back from Colorado and two peoples comments stood out. Zach Lowe saying “this is really messy and going to mess up a lot of people’s lives” and Perk arguing with Andrews about whether the woman involved should be suspended too. He’s a clown but he said something to the effect of “I’m still connected to the Celtics organization and he shouldn’t be the only one suspended.” it’s hard for me to believe that a noted socially progressive institution like the Boston Celtics* would blow up their season, in a championship window, because their coach had an affair with a staffer. This is a tens of millions of dollars loss if the Celtics season is punted. Also the whole “we hired an outside legal team to investigate” something that should be right up the alley of their own HR team. The whole thing just has to be more than “had an affair” with a coworker right? *this is sarcasm
Hiring outside legal to investigate something this high-profile is standard. You need an outside neutral to have the authority and free rein to investigate an NBA head coach. Internal HR has far too many internal influences and pressures to do it. That said, yes all the podcast comments and the 1-year suspension make it seem like far more than a consensual relationship. There's also little to no chance that the Celtics would announce the 1-year suspension while the investigation was ongoing. Maybe other people come out against the coach that cause the organization to change the suspension, but the Celtics would be really dumb to announce the suspension with an ongoing investigation.
