It's a bold strategy to demand a trade while also saying you will only accept a trade to teams that basically cannot legally trade for you
The only way Milwaukee could trade for him is straight up for Lillard. Would they have done that? I would think not, given the fit and the baggage involved. And I don't know that Miami would have done that, either, because of the money Lillard is owed compared to Butler.
Think I saw on the athletic where there was a two step process that would make it doable, basically Milwaukee moves like Beauchamp into Detroit's cap space to get under the second apron, then can aggregate Middleton and Connaughton and spare parts for Butler. The Lillard construction of that trade would have been the funniest trade in league history.
I don’t see the incentive that Miami has to trade Jimmy to a team they don’t like what the offer is. Is Jimmy going to become a free agent and go to a team like Charlotte. He’d basically have to hope that OKC or Houston want to sign him to a long term deal since I can’t see anyone else having cap room.
Just amazing to see this type of post from a Heat fan only 18 months removed from the summer of "just take the deal Portland, you have no leverage."
this clip misses that he made three great passes for three great open looks before this and then decided to just take over
OKC could really use some draft capital. but for real what do you guys plan to do with 4 this year? Big boy offer for someone you want doesn’t seem like Sams MO, trade them for later to have more capital down the road?
I would bet money they'll move as many of these picks as they can for picks in like 2031. Presti's trying to turn this thing into a sustainable system indefinitely. Also I think we only have one open roster spot next season?
My favorite part was the announcer who was sure a payoff was coming and then had to save himself at the end when it didn't.
really cool when an officiating crew grants a timeout for a challenge after the ball is already inbounded
They've REALLY got to stop that shit. I've seen at least 2 times this season where they've already given the ball to the free throw shooter and THEN granted a review.
the contrabulous fabtraption of professor christopher finch didnt make a basket the last 4 minutes of the game, but they skate by since they managed to play one of the few teams in the league more pathetic than they are
speaking of pathetic, the worst union president in the history of organized labor put up a cool 1/14 from the floor tonight being the worst player on the floor in that game was a heck of an achievement, though
Nuggs holding up pretty well without Jokic. Jamal slowly rounding back into form. MPJ continuing his career year.
Utah is the respectable kind of bad. They play hard, have some fun players, put up a decent fight most games, and lose. Model tanking team
