There was a similar convo when Kenny Smith was on All the Smoke a month or so ago where they talked about him like he was ahead of his time or something and would destroy the league now. He was shooting 4-5 threes a game during his Detroit run and making about 35% of them. He had no handle and didn't create offense for himself or anyone else. He was nowhere close to guys like KG in his own era. And that's not even considering the fact that he didn't have the work ethic or mental toughness to be anything more than a talented but frustrating player. He's closer to Myles Turner than he is Giannis or players of that ilk.
I think Rasheed’s game is better suited for today’s NBA but I don’t think there’d be a massive bump in his stats. He’d still be a sub .500 shooter overall and somewhere around .300 from three.
I'll also believe Ainge backs himself into a corner to the point if needing to take that Miami shit offer this offseason when I see it.
I look forward to more reviews to come from this ruling. And for the assholes who use the "going for the ball" loophole and possibly injuring players.
Like, not trying to be insensitive, has he been tested for any serious disorders of the mental variety?
You’re gonna have to give a lot of money to the winner to have a league cup matter. Europe won’t adapt American sports structure and vice versa
Money + draft picks + salary cap relief is the only way you can make it meaningful IMO like start the second round with the winners or Give a pick in between the lottery and the rest of the first round plus money for the players plus like a 5 mm extra before you hit the tax Which seems like a lot for a mid season tourney but don’t know how you don’t get the players, owners, GMs on board without incentives to all
No shit. I was pointing out someone who would actually have a chance to be an MVP caliber player in the league today vs someone like Wallace.
And difference is the cups and mid season tournaments in Europe include teams in other leagues (lower divisions or other countries) not just all the same teams competing again. There are at least some fresh matches. They also dont have playoffs, so its their only knockout style event during the season. This tournament just doesn't make sense to NBA
Shit if you're going to do it throw the G League teams in there too. I'd be at least mildly interested in that.
The formula is $3828 per year of service annually, available to anyone who played three years+ in the ABA
Was listening to the most recent Hoop Collective, as I'm content starved right now, and Marcus Spears said Banchero is a Jokic level passer and compared Keegan Murray to Tim Duncan. It was quite a performance.
I mean he just said ‘yeah’ to that random kid. He was probably thinking ‘fuck off, this kid doesn’t even know I’m an owner of the Jazz’.
jabari walker (son of samaki) played himself out of a two-way contract and onto the full roster. he honestly might end up in the rotation with how he's looked so far. he's 6'9, can seemingly switch on defense, and might be able to shoot (40% in two years in college from 3pt).
Per 36 they’re the same player. Given Herro is younger I don’t see how they get Mitchell for less than 3 of those Minnesota firsts
Johnny Davis has been dreadful through 3 summer league games, not being able to create his own shot at all is alarming
Dude is terrible. Last year's Wisconsin team was the biggest fraud of all time. The Big Ten should be embarrassed that they allowed that team to win more than 5 or 6 conference games.
They’ve actually gone away from let’s use up the whole shot clock and dictate tempo and first to 50 wins. They weren’t bad to watch last year besides bitch ass Davison It’s 3 games but man he looks awful, hopefully just nerves. Lack of athleticism is sticking out
I did not think he was impressive at Wisconsin and I think I watched a lot of B1G basketball. I think Keegan Murray has a chance to be the most productive player in the class
I’m not optimistic right now I like Keegan’s game but some teams found ways to shut him down, not sure how the I look amazing in summer league translates. Being the worst player in summer league isn’t great
I think Murray will score at a pretty high level. I'm just not sure what else he'll do. He doesn't really create for others, and I think he'll be somewhat dependent on people creating for him to maximize his scoring. I think he's a good bet to be one of the 6-7 best guys from the class, but it also seems unlikely he ends up being one of the 2-3 most impactful guys.
I think Murray can become an efficient 20 ppg scorer. I don't know if he'll ever create for his teammates though. Ivey, on the other hand, I think can be a 20 a game guy and give you playmaking.
