Don’t associate me with the Ingram is as good or better than KD clowns, I didn’t say anything bad about KD I just wanted everyone to know that I’m in love with Mikal Bridges.
KD was a half inch from winning the ship most likely last year with a bag of dicks for a supporting cast. Has Ingram played in a playoff game? I like Ingram but they’re not even on the same stratosphere…
I think I would trade Saddiq Bey for Kevin Durant, but I'm not sure I would include Killian Hayes or Marvin Bagley in the deal.
I realize he isn't sitting with the common folk but flying commercial when you're that tall has to suck ass Just being in an airport when you're 7 feet tall probably sucks too
Phoenix fans are going to be mad about running it back because they had unrealistic expectations for kd now ownership just made ayton feel like they didn’t want him for no reason good stuff
I mean what's their alternative? They clearly fucked it up prior to now, but their current options are (1) Match and try and regain the relationship with him and keep trying to win with him as a piece, (2) resign him to trade him at deadline or in offseason, some team will give something for him, so half season or 1 season of Ayton plus some asset or no ayton / no asset, or (3) let him walk and get nothing back on a team trying to win now. They already over the cap, so it's not like they can replace him with anyone This was handled extremely poorly by Suns, but when it came down to him signing an offer sheet, they pretty much had to match
yeah, i edited my post because i'm mostly just laughing at what phoenix has already done. matching the offer is clearly in the best interest of the franchise because they're likely to be really good again assuming hard feelings can be overcome. paying non-mvp centers really sucks (portland is way overpaying nurkic compared to what guys like looney, rob williams, wendell carter, etc. make) so i get the apprehension towards paying him max money. but at the same time, you have a pretty small window to compete for titles with CP3's age and they ultimately seemed to have fucked themselves for no real benefit.
I do have to say seeing the total 180 Suns twitter is doing from "he's not worth a max lol" to "this was always the plan, what a steal, savvy move" etc is pretty funny
It happened so fast too, like nobody in the fan base was pumped about keeping him… and here we are. I always thought he was worth a max(given what max means in the current NBA) and nothing about this process was savvy, annoyed that Shams is leading the way with that bullshit spin
I even saw one saying the Pacers must be devastated after being played like a fiddle by Jones because we traded Brogdon and waived a non guaranteed guy "just to get Ayton" only to get it taken away. Like dude, no
It’s fucking miserable at my height. Add another half a foot and I’d probably have an anxiety attack and jump out of the exit door mid flight
I've never really studied the cap in the NBA. Can they really spend whatever they want, as long as they pay a luxury tax after they go over a certain amount?
Only in certain ways. And the tax gets huge in a hurry. You can’t just go signing other teams’ free agents if you are over the cap.
