I hope he stays, but I get it. Joseph played CB, but probably a better fit for Safety. He wasn't great last year, but good enough and got a good bit of playing time as a Freshman. But unless there is an injury, he'll be headed back to the bench with Stingley coming in. And, at least as of the moment, we have one of the top CBs coming in the following year. I can't blame him for at least checking his options.
I hear you, but we are talking about 19-20 year old who has gotten passed up on the depth chart already. And from what everyone has said about practice and watching him in the spring game, I would say the probability of him being a bust is extremely low. And I don't find anything strange anymore when it comes to the transfer portal.
I read he is part of NBA youngboy entourage. At least NBA is locked up atm so maybe he can keep his head on straight now.
Apparently, he wanted to transfer because the cafeteria didn't have chicken nuggets & bacon. No, I'm not making this shit up.
In this age of attention whoring, there is going to be (if not already) an insane amount of players jumping in the portal just so other school can contact them and stroke their ego. And maybe get some of those recruiting handshakes again that they miss from high school... The Athletic had a really good article about it. Of the more than 450 looking to leave Power 5 schools, only 20 percent have ended up at another Power 5 program
the portal is going to be humbling for a lot of these kids. this isn't HS anymore, teams actually know what kind of player you are in most cases, if you're a marginal P5 player don't think some Top 25 team is going to come and beg you to play like when you were in HS and mis-ranked.
These kids are really fucking up their education, a lot of these kids are gonna go from a Power 5 school to JUCO then who knows. Its going to be very difficult for them to graduate in their eligibility window with all the odd ball credits accumulated. ND has put all their kids on a rush program where they can graduate in fall or spring of their junior year, transfer and be able to play right away with two years of eligibility. ND is seeing 4-7 kids transferring every year now but they have that ND degree in hand in the majority of the cases. Its allowed Kelly to play games with scholarships like this past spring where they finished signing day with 90 scholarships but now are at 86 heading into fall as 4 kids graduated and transferred out.
I really hope there he simply said no thanks to Michigan, because if we're just not pursuing him, I'm not sure what to say. Our backfield is a massive question mark this year.
yeah, i'm not sure where this info is coming from. The ONLY thing I think, is we are waiting on a stud JUCO RB to enroll. As with most juco kids, when you are waiting and waiting, it's not usually good news. Perhaps we would use his scholarship for a one year rental, but we return our top 3 rushers from last year, so not sure what role he thinks he will have
"Notched a career-best nine tackles against UK"...pop in the Benny Snell's highlight reel against UF last year and see how many it should have been.
Looks like Bru McCoy is going back to USC. Crazy. His move to Texas made sense. Kliff K bailed right after signing him, and Bru felt misled because he was misled. No coaches have left Texas. Bru would get playing time as a true freshman if the NCAA allows his appeal. Looks like the kid is just homesick. He has every right to be happy, and I wish him the best. I hope the NCAA allows him to play right away at USC. I want to see **** get absolutely insane with the transfer portal. Set the precedent that kids can transfer multiple times and still play in the same season.
You can say shit, fuck, dick, cunt, or any other four letter word your heart desires. This isn’t rivals
i assume you mean high school because he never actually did. (per his vice-principal, who attends sunday school with my boss)
they discussed the issue in church, surely you aren't suggesting they were spilling lies while praising the lord.
nah these guys are too starch shirt for Newspring. they live in Converse Heights and attend 1st Baptist.
I have barely watched RU football in years, but from what I've read people are quite upset that he left as it looked like he was a very good prospect.
Probably the only Artur fan left. Suck ass IMG right there. Still can't comprehend 4tds and 18int's last year.
Sounds like he isn’t leaving voluntarily, because of an academic integrity issue. Not sure how that would impact his options.
