What a sad state of affairs that picking up FIUs kicker and dropping our own is the highlight of the year
I'd argue that going from a bad kicker to a good one could result in a 2-3 game swing in the most competitive conference in college football.
might have got us in the playoffs this year, which we would have lost in round 1. But other than that hasn’t really cost us much tbqh.
Apart from one very high profile miss, this is true. But we have missed more FGs than any other team since 2007, hard to say that hasn't amounted to some difference
So kicking has cost 2 conference championships - with zero doubt. 2 Iron Bowls with zero doubt A natty with 70% confidence A playoff appearance and natty with about 2% confidence haha Can’t remember the 2010 Auburn game, we lost by one. Would a good kicker have bailed us out?
Also the 2012 Johnny Manziel game, pretty sure we missed a couple - so potentially another undefeated season
He started some in 2018 and by end of this past season he was fourth string. Didn’t really fit Grinch’s defense. CB Jordan Parker just entered as well. Grad transfer. Started a true freshman and was pretty good, but constantly battled injuries and just not sure if he can physically hold up any more.
I know we missed a FG in the 2013 iron bowl (other than the last kick) but I mean I don’t expect any college kid make a 60 yarder to win. We lost that game for many reasons imo. Lots of blame to hand out on that one. I don’t really care about the SECCG, we won it all in ‘11. Honestly got us a bye in the end. This year I guess it would have been nice to get in but we get trounced in the first round so I’m not sure how much that really cost us. I don’t think we would have gotten in if we beat auburn anyway but who knows.

Damnnnn....had to look that up, was a junior in college and shitfaced at halftime. I do remember McCarron throwing 4 straight incompletions to end the game now that I think about it. Same thing happened in the Falcons/Patriots SB. Although a Saints fan, as an Atlanta resident was rooting for them. Everyone took about a million shots at halftime when things were going well and blacked back in with about 6 minutes left in the 4th. Most somber place I've ever seen. Just looked it up - McElroy set the Alabama single season TD pass record in that game with nineteen. Nineteen!!!! My how times have changed
It was 21-0 after the first, we started the Cam Back, Ingram Fumbled and that's all I really remember
Auburn is similar when ppl try to tout passing/receiving stats. I think we have just two 1,000 yrd WR all time
Miami had the best kicker in the country, sole reason they won the MAC. Kid won them like 5 one score games
its been a little disappointing seeing UVA set school records in offense and scoring the past few seasons and we haven’t even cracked the top-50 offenses nationally.
