Been a little smoke about making a run at beck since the Mateer miss. Apparently we also made a run at tampering with Maivia from USCw but that didn't work out. At this point we are desperate and overpaying for a hurt beck is the best option left. It's been something talked about by non-credentialed media over the last couple weeks.
My guess is he's feeling himself with his play during the playoff and wants to take a shot at the draft.
consider yourself cited. Hopefully he and Ms. Cavinder continue their blissfull relationship through next season in Miami.
I don't put much of our offensive woes on Beck fwiw. Terrible OL play and the most drops in the country.
Like I said, when his gf starts her Onlyfans career he will want to be close or potentially a part of it.
I think Beck was underrated this year due to what Jake Scott said above, but who the fuck knows what to expect coming off an injury to his throwing arm. Probably what the NFL told him too. Weirdest part is that we don’t have a super solid QB room at the moment, so he’d probably have a decent shot at winning the job this fall. All around strange.
Ewers is probably getting actual NFL feedback instead of media bullshit, and they’re telling him that no team in the league has Sanders or Ward evaluated as a top-10 pick or maybe not even as first-rounders. Neither of them are the clear-cut top quarterback. Enter the draft, and you have a legit shot of being drafted before either of them.
The problem was we weren't paying him again. He got huge money from us last year. Kirby was ready to move on completely.
correct me if I am wrong Jake Scott but he got the same surgery as Brock Purdy 2 years ago. Purdy got his surgery a few months after Beck did and was ready for Training camp the next season. So the epectation is yes for fall camp, no for spring.
Seems crazy to bring in a starting QB and have him for fall camp only, but who knows. Hope he does well. He caught too much shit this year from the fanbase because he’s kind of a goober.
If he got the same one as Purdy, he’ll be ready to start throwing in May/June if rehab goes well. 5-7 month recovery average per reports.
Rusty saying June-July to start throwing again. Yea, the NFL told him to come back. Miami probably getting him on a discount. At least if I'm a Miami fan I would hope so.
I think you have to do it if you have miami's qb room, but man it's a risk with the injury and the money he's going to command.
Idk if I'm trusting this coming from the Beck camp. I wish him nothing but the best. Hope he does well.
I like Beck. He was great in 2023 but did struggle when McConkey and Bowers were hurt for SECC game and this year so maybe he sucks without awesome skill weapons. As mentioned, our offensive line and pass catchers regressed so much this year so I don't put a lot of blame on him. There was also a report from 2021 that he was told he would be the starter when JTD was hurt and coaches changed their minds at the last moment to go with Bennett. The fact he stuck around as a backup for 3 years and earned starting job last year says a lot. Hope he recovers and plays well. I'd take a 100% Beck over Gunner or whatever the fuck we got coming in next year.
Tommy John surgery has a success and return to play rate of 90-95 percent. That aspect isn’t too much of a gamble.
Can't wait for Mel to act like Beck is the biggest moron on earth for staying in school when he gave him such a high grade.
Well I meant to where he's a full go without setbacks or rust by week 1. Because otherwise, you're probably allocating a big chunk of your budget and expectations on someone who might not be there
