just looked up Andre Greene's numbers this year still blows my mind, the talk coming out of his first year here was about him being the most physically gifted receiver we've maybe ever had, then he just never played and we stopped hearing about him
we couldn’t get any receiver going this year. the play calling, pass blocking, and qb play all worked against us.
I think we will have some decent talent entering. Something is gonna shake out at RB I think. One of Singleton / Allen may go pro, if so we’ll pay up for the other. However both could want to come back to school and we aren’t going to pay both. Allen seems most likely to hit the portal. Played like an absolute beast last month of the season but we prefer to try to retain Singleton and Allen less of an NFL ceiling due to his speed. Could see some WRs (lol), and a backup OL or 2 as well.
As a Georgia fan, Carson Beck was too bold, too cocksure. What we need is a guy who is absolute ass and can only throw it 30 yards. Gunner is perfect for that system.
I believe it was Gunner Stockton who once quoted a squidbilly when he said I like my truck Auburn sucks
We added: Jordon Simmons (RB, Akron) Trace Bruckler (TE, New Mexico) Percy Lewis (OT, Auburn) Not exactly lighting the world on fire with these but I could see the Akron kid playing a good amount.
We don’t have unlimited funds and spending for 2 RBs, when we like our backups seems irresponsible. We need to pay up for other guys too
Dawg you can absolutely afford both, PSU letting one walk over money would be sad See ND and OSU- you can absolutely afford 2 starter level RBs
No, PSU and our current NIL funds, cannot. That’s great for ND and OSU…. Teams with clearly more funds available than PSU as evidenced by the portal the last couple offseason
none of this makes sense for PSU- you just approved a $700 million stadium renovation, Franklin & his staff are a top ten paid group, you’ve got a $4.6 billion endowment like there is no shortage of money at your disposal
I mean that's a lot of money going to NOT NIL wouldn't be that crazy if they're stretched thin after that
the point of raising endowments size here is a reference to the donor base strength of the alumni you cannot use endowments on athletics or player acquisition obviously
you’d be surprised how easy it is to fundraise for these major programs Rich ppl literally have so much fucking money these days they don’t know where to put it
That’d be unfortunate. Simmons stats at Akron look pretty good, but he was absolute ass for four* years at #Michigan State Spartans
Will this be a slide back year for Lane? New QB, portal doesn't seem to be as fruitful as past and losing a metric fuck ton of starters?
Yeah I would’ve held off till the next cycle if Lewis was the best you could do. He was absolutely unplayable at times this year.
He's been so money in the portal that I would still expect a good season, but this class just kinda seem mid.
Sometimes you need to win off the field before you win on it Did he break up with his young GF? Or did she just quietly go away? This whole Layla saga seems silly
Hard to see them ever having a better team, schedule, and path than they did this season. Lane’s always gonna Lane.
We'll see where the portal class ends up (ranked at #3 now but definitely not the star power of last year). We still have or expect to have room to add another 7-9 players in the portal supposedly.
I'm gonna take a stab in the dark we struggle to effectively replace the 6 NFL players we're losing on defense unless we tamper our asses off in the spring portal.
There aren't 7-9 good players left. Those 247 stats are just counting stats with 17 kids and only a handful of "4 star" ranked kids.
