I wish i had better understanding of the CPS issues. I know It’s bad, but not exactly why or how. Or what the good solutions are. Even Brandon Johnson has talked about closing and consolidating some schools. Which to me sounds, counterintuitive in some ways
yeah, I don’t know the ins and outs but I’ve seen the conditions of some of these schools and it’s awful. Closing those schools that would probably be a net positive, but they need to do something besides add more kids to teachers that are already teaching 50 kids at a time. For all of the good things here compared to the south, it still makes me feel very weird when I think about how the schools and the city in general are virtually segregated still. Even in the brightest red counties in west texas it’s not like that

The reminder is more that old money democrats have zero clue how to run campaigns in the modern era. I got probably 50 texts (at least one a day) from the Johnson campaign and about zero from Vallas. The social media campaigns were similarly skewed to Johnson.
