have a friend going to Japan in a couple weeks is there anything I should ask to keep an eye open for?
Blanton's grows on the shelf over there. Should be pretty easy for him/her to bring you home a black or Takara red. If given the choice, red. Straight from the Barrel and Gold are more desirable than both, but harder to find. Others: Four Roses Platinum Wild Turkey 13yr (also 12yr but I've read some lukewarm reviews) Evan Williams Red 12yr
Four roses platinum isn’t anything special but it’s decent for 80 proof. Leeroy Jenkins! was just over there and can probably give you an idea of what’s findable.
So I was in Taiwan but best bet is turkey products. Wild turkey 12 was 48/bottle. Taiwan didn't seem super interested in bourbon so your experience may vary.
My buddy brought me back a Takara red, believe I shared it with Love Tractor and others last year when they were over for a game. It's a novelty, nothing to write home about.
yeah, so far I’m not too impressed. Really wanted it to be better than this. May let this one sit for a couple weeks before I try again and see if it gets better.
Dude, I was in there the second it opened, saw add to cart and clicked it a million times. Wouldn’t add to cart at all. Shit was rigged.
Wife was selected 13th for the quarterly lottery allocation in Alabama, the drop is June 24th and she is due June 22nd with our second child. She better be ready to get out of the hospital and wait in line for 30 mins
It's apparently still pretty good despite not being 12 year. I think I saw the next one is actually supposed to be 13 years.
Was in a store down in Florida last week during vacation, reg Blantons $200, gold $300 lol. Did snag a HH BiB for $80 which didn’t seem bad but we killed it between 3 of us lol. Good juice.
https://thebourbonculture.com/whisk...dkYltv05oDcRPalEFmSUF2rNFA43k&mibextid=Zxz2cZ I will never see one.
I'm trying to figure out what makes it special outside of some different packaging. Reading that article nothing about it really stands out.
Oh people are definitely going to go full tater for it. I'm honestly not even interested in it even if I were to come across one at retail.
Speaking of Buffalo Trace, I’m seeing GTS down to $850 on the secondary depending on the year. That’s damn tempting…
One of the "soda" ones? I almost snagged one of those but need to chill on spending. Haven't had any Blue Note myself.
