I would not do this. I have tried the hot water trick also and it loosens the glue on the cork.

I’ve had batch 2 and 3 of 13. Found them much hotter than 15. Not sure what 13 is going for on secondary but I’m likely going to drop the money on a 15 soon. It’s damn good!

Excited about opening this nearly 15yr Light Whiskey (assumingely MGP distillate, I’m sure someone can chime in here.)

Have you ever had light whiskey? Not sure what to expect.

 

I haven't. I know people rave about those Penelope light whiskeys. But I don't know much about them at all.

 

I actually forgot I got sent a sample of it. I would try it tonight but I've been sick so probably couldn't taste it properly.

I got a very light wood, something like sandalwood maybe idk. Also a tropical fruitiness maybe coconut.

Definitely different. Definitely needs to sit for a minute.

Aussie wanted to circle back on this as I’m having my “start the fire and prep the smoker” pour. This bottle is incredible, just very different than a typical bourbon profile.
