So g8r if I understand powerball drawings properly, you have nine spots. Price of the bottle (or what you want to walk away with) divided by nine equals cost per spot. People claim spots and pay upfront (Venmo, Cash app, etc.) for them. Powerball drawing whichever night is agreed upon determines winner. Then I box it up and shit? Seems pretty straightforward.
I’m working through the huge response and trying to round up more boxes and shipping material. Basically TMB bought more than half the bottles, so thankfully I dont have to deal with random assholes from FB. I much prefer dealing with you assholes
is the Blanton’s still available? I’ve been looking for one, but I’ll take it since I know it’s going to a good cause. Let me know what else is available too
I h8 all of you who jumped on the W12 before I could. Spoiler Just kidding, I love all of you in here. Y'all have been tons of help in this fun journey so far.
What in the hell is going on with scotch prices? Did everyone start drinking it all of a sudden. I used to get Lagavulin 16 for like $85 a few months ago. It's $120 now.
Haven't asked yet. Noticed it at 3 separate stores from different companies. Have a few bottles of Lagavulin still so haven't needed to purchase just noticed it as a I walked by.
It's a combo of tarrifs and the impact of covid on the supply line according to my local store owner.
. wtf is wrong here ? must be the gummies ? corperate gummies extra thc . Gainesville green kush pops ? only that gubbs guy does that aint no damn gainesville people here. duh----
In college we’d keep the empty bottles from “high end” liquor like Skyy Vodka and then dump handles of Vladimir in there. The chicks never knew the difference. #lifehack
We did the same thing, would have empty bottles of Grey Goose, Skyy, etc... and fill them with Bartons. Then we'd invite people to taste test them and give us their feedback on the differences. 21 year old me found this highly entertaining.
my buddies in college & I always wanted to get a keg of O’Doul’s, have a keg party, & see if people started acting drunk
On the nose, B520 is bringing the expected heavy caramel/brown sugar and big oak notes, but there’s also an increased rye spice presence and a big blast of sweet baking spices, with notes of candied ginger, cinnamon and orange citrus. It smells powerful, sweet and warming. On the palate, this entry is quite sweet, with a prominent “orange vanilla cream” note, which segues into heaps of brown sugar and spice—my notes at one point say “heavily browned sugar cookies with orange zest.” The alcohol level has been tamped down a bit from previous batches, and that really allows the richness to come out here, amping up decadent sweetness and baking spice notes of ginger candy, cloves, cinnamon and allspice. There’s also a sweet nuttiness—a bit of peanut butter—and no shortage of rye spice either. All in all, this is hugely flavorful; perhaps even more purely flavorful than this year’s early A120 batch, although not quite as oak forward. Instead, the decadence factor has been amped up.
My father in law does the same thing at his Kentucky Derby party every year. People always try to get into his good bourbon and make mixed drinks with it. Keeps a couple nice bottles and dumps Evan Williams in pre-party. No one has ever noticed.
Just took a sip and it’s damn delicious. Going to let it sit for a few minutes because it’s got some heat though. Luckily the local shop carries all 3 batches so if the B517 is considered better I’m all in.
according to my local place the jim beam distributor changed for the state of indiana and the new one cant sell anyhting until the old distributor sells out of their stock getting hard to wait patiently for another bottle of bookers
gritzy I don’t know you on a personal level, but I love you as a fellow man and whisky enthusiast. But hot damn son you have some hot takes. You’re out here fiending over some damn Bookers.
As it was explained to me by BrickTamland a few pages back, the Elijah Craig naming mechanism is A/B/C then month and year of release. So I was surprised your shop would still have B517 on the shelves.
