Thanks to BrickTamland for driving to meet me today for delivery of the M10 and GTS. First BTAC! Also found an OF15 I couldn’t pass on at 199.
Wife went to the liquor store so I told her to get a buffalo trace for me. It ended up being a single barrel store pick!
It’s been awhile since I’ve had a store pick buffalo trace but it’s a noticeable step up from the regular bottles.
my first time. Like he said before I had a stereotype of Wild Turkey drinkers. At 16 for the bottle it isn’t bad. It might replace JB black for my cheap bourbon but it is a lot stronger.
Regular doesn’t say but the regular bottles are all the same. I just can’t remember the letters, though the chart is in here somewhere. I’ve never seen a store pick but there are some recipes I’d like to try.
I drunk it neat. Only bourbon I use with a mixer is JB whites I use it to make bloody derby’s. I want to use it to make a sour but don’t have a me proof recipe.
When it’s hot out but I’m lazy I just throw a little ice in it ha. As for mixing I only do an old fashioned, so I like the higher rye and deeper char to cut the sweetness. All around just a great price for a good proof and great flavor.
How do I tell year on the M10? Is it first two digits on the neck of the bottle? If so I have an 18 and a 19.
I like it. Way better than their other finishes not named zin cask or port (tbd), I like 2007 the most still.
Have a 19 but not open yet. Have an 18 open and just love the nose and pallet. The finish is a bit astringent but it’s a tasty pour for sure.
The store picks all say the recipe right on the bottle. The non store pick SiB are all the same recipe, but I forget which one.
4R single barrel non store pick is OBSV And then it seems like 90% of the store picks are also OBSV. I’ve yet to see one (not on secondary) that is a different recipe.
Only place I’ve seen the others is the gift shop and one guy in DC who has a great relationship with them.
