Is this a universal thing?
I thought my sample of ofbb 19 from you was terrible.
So I finally got to talk to the owner of 5 points who did the Archives barrel tasting. Said he actually bought two barrels, the first is the one we have bottles from. The second he told them to hold onto and age for another year in Scotland. So there will be another barrel with a full 10 years in it.
At that time I hated it also. Maybe I was having a good taste bud day this morning, but it was delicious.
Can we reserve?
I'll talk to him, we shouldn't have an issue getting any.
Generally, stores will give you 5% off a case.
“this morning” lol
The birthday bourbon sample you sent me I absolutely loved and I’m not a huge OF fan. Could never understand the hate I’ve seen a lot of places, my theory is the air that gets in with the samples helps them open up faster. Speaking of, my wife is about to do our IVF transfer next week. When (fingers crossed) we get our positive pregnancy result I plan on celebrating with a blind of the Pappy 15 and EHT full proof samples you sent me to go along with Michters 10 you sent me and my George T Stagg. Just realized I have you to thank for some of my best bourbon tastings. Big thanks!
Haha just saw this after my post. Funny how different two bourbon takes can be. Makes it fun.
NYGator I will take one of each of those samples. Thanks, love you.
Drinking it again right now. Loving it. Something has changed...either my taste or the bourbon.
Well that's pretty awesome. I really need to start developing my liquor store relationships better.
If I remember correctly, it had a oaky, banana dessert flavor to it that I really enjoyed.
Yes that’s pretty accurate with a bit more acidic fruit.
Banana seems to be the old forester signature
I really need to build a taste kit or something. I’m really not good at tasting notes. It’s mostly I like this/I don’t like this.
What helps me is reading a review while I am sampling it. It helps me look for what the flavor actually is. I feel that breaking Bourbon does the best job of aligning with what I taste.
Easily my favorite bourbon reviewer.
Just picked up a bottle of this. IT's actually pretty good for a 4 year rye heavy mash.
Anyone ever tried this?
Honestly no clue. Local shop got 1 of 2 barrels in GA. Figured for $40 I would give it a shot
Sprayberry Bottle Shop has a pretty good reputation for their picks. I’d give it a shot.
I don't recall who it was but someone who previously helped me out asked me to keep an eye out for Peg Leg Porker. I found the 8 yr today and bought two (one for me), who was it that asked before and do you still want it?
Bought another bottle of Bombergers today. It’s such a good pour.
I may have mentioned the 12 year?
I was thinking it was you but wasn't positive. This is only the 8 yr.
Pour of Noah’s mill. Holy shit this is good
It’s really different when your in the mood for something a little edgy.
Got Rowan's Creek this week. Really enjoy it.
Think I want to save the rest for fall/winter with this overwhelming walnut and allspice. But really really good
can I get in on that too? I’ll pay for shipping
lucky - been trying to track down one of those & a Shenk’s on secondary since I’ve never seen either in a store here
Twin liquors was sitting on a ton a few months ago, I got a bombergers and shenks for 70 total and sent it to pperc
What are you looking for? Gimme a list and I'll keep an eye out
If you see more, lemme know!
I’ll add onto that Shenks and Bombergers list please.
i was on that bomb and shenk train early
Anyone interested in Rare Breed Rye Barrel Strength?
what price are you seeing?
sil won the ohio weller bourbon lottery
I get to buy the 12yr, full proof, single barrel full proof or cypb
I am excited if I get the cypb I may try to sell it so I can buy some other stuff though....
I wonder if single barrel secondary exceeds cypb this year.
I think they'll be 45-50?
single barrel or cypb definitely the way to go. congrats! I'm jealous.
they are $64.99 actually.
