wow what a steal. Two pedestrian bottles for one of the best bottles released this year and 100 clams.
i was very happy, essentially got paid $10 and a bottle I really wanted but didn’t want to pay retail for free.
Finally cracked this one tonight. Very good. Doesn’t measure up to the WLW (not even close IMO but that’s a high bar) but I paid retail and I very happy with it at that price point. The extra age definitely gives it a more complex flavor than the Jr. and mellows it out a bit.
Where is this magical place you live? $50 for an EHT SiB? I’m seeing that as the Small Batch price at most places these days.
I snagged the only one a hole in the wall store had. He hadn’t priced it yet so he sold it to me a little above his cost because I buy a ton of stuff from him.
I just dropped in to say that I think Knob Creek 12 year is gross and I use it to make Manhattans cause I can’t drink it straight. Isn’t there an anti-KC contingent in the thread?
Originally didn't like it because when I first opened, all I could smell was Jim Beam. Now that it's opened up a little I think it's pretty good.
I can’t get over the smoky/peaty taste. For a 12 year blend, it’s also very astringent to me. It’s like drinking bourbon from a glass that had scotch in it. Different strokes for different folks.
Winding down with a glass of Jefferson’s Ocean. I think it’s about $15-$20 more than it should be but the finish is great

Watching Justified for the first time through, it’s awesome how often they reference bourbon and show a bottle of Pappy or something else. Though one dude was putting Pappy in his coffee, which I can’t endorse. Saw a nice pour of Elmer in the recent episode
I think it definitely gets better with age. I’m not a huge fan of the 9 year, I like the 12, and I love the 14-15 yr single barrel 120 proof store picks.
That is a great idea for your daughter! I'm just seeing this but if no one has spoke up about it and if it's a store pick I'd be interested in the Peerless Bourbon. Hope you're feeling better brother
I imagine she could sell all the bottles here and most people would likely be willing to pay a bit over MSRP for it to help her out, but not sure if she's wanting full secondary pricing then the FB grps might be better. Also, how you feeling NYGator ?
I think he's looking at it being a good experience for her to take this on and do it on her own. Obviously we'd all love to buy up this stock, but I think this is a cool thing he's doing for her.
not sure why they always post sideways, but store finally got in on the 4R store picks. It’s OESK which was one of the ones I wanted to try. $76 so not sure if that’s decent but I wanted it.
LOL, true. That said, I genuinely think I have a bad stomach virus. No cough, sore throat, runny nose, etc.
Does anyone have a clue how MegaFireBallz works? Edit: just realized that it's for selling sample bottles. Pretty decent way to fund your purchases and walk away with more than half a bottle still.
