kentucky too chill
Enjoying playoff hockey and an 11yr SP Knob Creek. I have yet to be disappointed in a single one of these (after they’ve sat for a few weeks.)
I love them. I have been hoarding the 14-15 year ones like a mad man.
was told KC won't be doing picks that old anymore so good idea
I have a 15 year I'm hanging on to
Thoughts on the Woodford Masters Collection Brandy Cask Finish?
Won the four roses limited edition lottery....been a great bourbon month.
Anyone had anything from LAWS Whiskey House out of Denver? Thoughts?
I had their Four Grain Bourbon, Bonded Bourbon, San Luis Vally Rye and the Bonded Rye this week and thought they we amazing.
You and I definitely have different tastes.
The four grain was okay but I bought a store pick barrel proof rye, took one sip and said nope. Revisted a week later still nope. I would put it up as one of the worst bottles I've ever had. Store pick I know but ugh.
Snagged a GTS and WFP today. Woop woop.
Found out I passed my boards. I'm opening all of it tonight plus an old dusty ecbp
Stopped by to see if they had any of the Elijah Craig store picks left. Last one on the shelf was hidden behind the normal small batch bottles. Grabbed that and a 1792 full proof store pick.
Love a good 1792 FP SP
Took a sip since I’ve never had it; can’t wait to have a proper pour later.
Best part is its usually like 50 bucks. I'm becoming more of a value bourbon hunter now, although I paid 200 for the WFP yesterday, I just wanted it and it was a treat to myself. Shits just getting too expensive. Thats why I'm mad at myself for not listening to pperc and jumping on the smoke wagon 6 months back. That shit is delicious for the price (Uncut, haven't had the desert jewel but they all say its the best)
Picked up a BT Harmony and Bookers Boston Batch earlier this morning
Will also be enjoying a flask full of BT at today’s game
I had a couple pours of Joseph Magnus a few weeks back and really enjoyed it, so I’ve been curious.
My store has a Murray Club and a store pick regular, both at $100. Neither of those are what I had. Thoughts?
Shade side, I’m hoping?
Better buy up all the DJ you can find. It’s been discontinued. I have a SmB and Uncut but had to trade with a guy in TX. Hoping they start distributing to GA soon
I think they’re decent, but very overpriced. If you’re in DC, the distillery is fun tho.
I thought they sourced everything, no idea they were distilling their own stuff for the future.
Maybe their own gin is the only thing that’s old enough yet? I dunno. I’ve just really enjoyed their cocktails at the bar, which is attached to the distillery
Tthat likely means they’re distilling lots of spirits and just selling stuff that doesn’t need to be aged (gin, vodka) for operational cash flow while their whiskey sits.
Surprise pickup for $80. I don’t think I’ve had the rye before.
I could’ve got you unlimited DJ 6 month ago lol.
The day it was discontinued I went to my local NJ store and they had cases of it. Picked up a case for myself and a few extras for kentucky_dawg and for g8r . Leeroy Jenkins! blew it.
How many of these can you get for that price?
This was it. My corner beer store only pulls the occasional gem.
What is "DJ?"
Desert Jewel from Smoke Wagon
Hell of a bottle and price
dustin johnson's new bourbon. Copying Peyton Manning
I’ve been reading very favorable reviews of the Joseph Magnus bourbon and some mixed reviews on their Murray Hill. I’ll probably grab that store pick of the regular Joseph Magnus.
Cigar Blend is good but its just overpriced. Like everything!
Have you had either their 8 or 12 yr?
Just picked up these three...
Yes I have several 12 year store picks and an 8 yr from K&L on its way now.
Boom. You see any Michter’s toasted rye yet? NY got a ton along with the OFBB 2020 that dropped early there
Nice. Let me know if you are able to find more. I’d love to add both to my collection
She didn't get a sip of it
took a two week break off of booze for a mental reset. Picked up an Evan Williams SiB tonight. Not a bad pour for $30. Very oaky.
No, I have only been to one store though. Is toasted rye the new release?
Belle Meade Cask strength just landed in Oregon and I was ready for something new. Will crack it tonight and have a pour then try out the Eric Church bourbon after.
its sooo damn good
