I really like Glencairns, but damned if they aren’t pretentious as shit.
ill be honest at 122 proof and 13 years old it would have to blow me away to be worth $150 vs a $50 15 year 120 proof store pick.
Yeah, I poured a little Larceny BP at 3:00. So what?
Glasses got delivered at noon. I had to try one of them out for science and stuff.
I ordered a bunch of stuff from them last time including hats and shirts and everything was amazing and priced well.
I have it. Not a huge fan, but I also do not love KC. I also paid about $125 for it.
So I kinda love this Larceny BP. First time trying it.
Yes, I do too. I don't get the recent hate in this thread.
It's been getting hate? I saw where Leeroy Jenkins! wasn't a fan. Were there others?
The store I found it at is notorious for markups. They want more for just about everything other than Buffalo Trace. Same store I paid $75 for Stagg Jr
I would pay $75 for Stagg Jr.
I think a couple of people said they weren't into it. Hate is probably an exaggeration.
Stupid question but the place I usually buy from has something listed as Henry McKenna single barrel. They don't have a picture listed. Do they make a single barrel outside the 10 year?
Nah, that's gonna be McKenna 10.
Yeah the big stores usually get a lot around the first of the month
I lived in lexington when Town Branch first opened and now they all growed up. tear.
I don't hate it I just don't love it like I do ECBP. But I also don't love weller.
But what I do love is
For 75 dolla!!
im not a big ex-sherry cask guy
McKenna 10 is a single barrel...
so you don't like wheaters.
I like some. I like the wilderness trail stuff. I like the pappys. I think I like oak the most. I do not like woodford double oaked. I love old fitz.
I was active on my local secondary group today.
I raffled an Elmer T. Lee for $195 (because how absurd is that?) and then I bought a Blanton’s SFTB with the proceeds.
How hard is ETL to come across? It's one I've yet to see in the wild.
Local restaurant is selling Nikka Coffey Grain and Pure Malt for $100 and $115, respectively. Setting aside the fact it's helping a local restaurant, those are pretty high prices, aren't they?
Yes they are. I feel like they normally run around $60-70.
I’ve gotten two in the last two years. I was lucky to get both of them because both times they were behind the counter and offered to me by my go-to spot. I still have one opened and it’s decent.
It’s just overvalued in my opinion.
Yeah, I probably wouldn't pay more than about 50 or 60 for one. I'd like to have it in the collection though.
Have you tried any of the other versions? Crazy that bottle is $400 on secondary
I just took a pour, because I haven't had it since I opened it last year. I appreciate it so much more now. It definitely has a ton of great flavor, but it is still relatively hot, although I think it mellowed since I opened it. The big detraction for me though is the pepper. I am not a huge pepper guy and sometimes the pepper overwhelms and drowns out some of the better flavors.
Every time I’ve tried it, I’ve liked it a little more. I’m on bottle 2 now and going fast. It’s not quite on ECBP level for me, but that’s not a fair comparison either because that’s an all time favorite of mine. It compares very well to any other barrel proof product that you can readily find.
Still haven't tried ECBP. I went with the Larceny for $20 less, but I'll probably go back for the EC.
Yes I've had the Mongolian oak. It's good
I don't even try to compare those two. They are so different and both great for what they are. I think a fairer comparison to ECBP is Stagg Jr. They are both flavor bombs. Larceny is high octane wheater.
If you run out, Cascade has like 4-5 of them on shelf for $49.99
Was just in there yesterday for Blanton's and saw they had a few. Got my bottle at EZ Package for $51.
Allegedly, according to Instagram, they had 2 bottles of EHT 18yr Marriage just on shelf next to the Blantons this morning.
Revisiting bourbons I haven’t tried in awhile...
Guy that got one took this pic.
What the hell? Does Cascade get good stuff like that often?
Has anyone seen a review for this and is there an expectation that the price will ever drop below $1000?
Cracked open the 2019 Shenk's tonight...
Now I need to find some Bombergers, stat.
Did the same and just bought the regular for half the price.
It’s great. Bombergers is top shelf. Absolutely love it.
Stopped in my spot today and got to taste this. My guy only got one bottle so he kept it and is letting all his regulars have a pour when they came in. It’s good- not 2 grand good obviously. Tasted like a more complex and mature single barrel. I didn’t pick up much oak at all which surprised me given the 18 yr age.
Nice awesome he’s doing that. None of my spots got a bottle
Very cool move by that shop owner.
What is this creature that was just posted on Secondary?
