Looks very spensive
ask is 1200
that’s bad ass that he did that
Looking for opinions from those acquainted with Barrel Bourbon. My local just got a store pick in. 14 yrs and 108 proof. I understand these are single barrels so they’re all a bit different but do these justify the price? It’s $98.
I enjoy these bottles. They are Dickel though, but not too fruity
Had a Daviess County yesterday. Made by same people as rebel yell and old Ezra. Pretty good for a $36 price point.
By the way, pperc is throwing his knowledge around in this thread too.
But he seems much happier about it.
so much happy!
We appreciate it when pperc "stops by"
My antibody positive buddy is coming over. Wild Turkey night.
pperc is jealous twice over.
I am a big fan of Barrell single barrels. My go to store pick is 14 years and 115 proof. Only reason I picked it up originally was to get a bottle of Blanton’s and have since gotten three more. Strong but very smooth.
I see decades is your favorite
How’s this year’s? Saw it at Total Wine for 159 and trying to figure out if it’s worth the price tag
Anyone tried the Blood Oath Pact 6? Heard good things but figured I would ask here amongst bourbon aficionados
What’s this, pick on me night?
I have a store with Decades for $170
It's supposed to be great and thats a fantastic price for it
The 17 yr BiB? Pick it up
Mine was 150 but they are getting harder to find
I want it, but I'm not to the almost $200 for a bottle point yet.
Also same guys as rebell yell and old Ezra. Quite the line up.
A little too high
I’ve seen it recently. Reminds me I should grab another. I really do like the MK collection. Did you try my decades sample?
Just the oldest
Yes it’s great stuff that’s why I got a bottle
Looked back at a pic I took of it. It's actually 179.99, so even worse.
To pperc point though it may come down to availability since it is a couple of years old. Not terrible, and it is delicious. I think I paid $140.
Decades is 160 around here
how’s the Cornerstone?
100+ proof blind tasting tonight. I ranked em:
1. Larceny BP
3. RR store pick “Eddie’s Puppets”
4. KC 15 sp
5. Barrell cask strength
I poured some Blaum Bros Old Fangled Knotter 106.6 tonight. This is incredible stuff.
Just noticed this is in an Elmer T bottle. Neat
Behind decades and 17. It’s good, but those are top shelf.
What’s a good price for little book chapter 3?
$125 I think
I think MSRP is $79.99 but I’ve seen it going for 130-140 on secondary. And $199 in dumb stores
MSRP is for sure not $80 for chapter 3.
I’ve seen overpricedbourbon post a few ch 3’s under 100 but they may have been deals stores were running
I got one of my bottles for 93
Saw it in a store for $145. Has anyone had it to believe it’s worth getting at the $20 markup?
I would pay that.
So I have been revisiting bottles I opened last year and just thought were meh at the time. I am also bottling up a bunch of samples right now, and taking some tastes of some bottles that I was not super impressed with at the time. I'm convinced time opened improves whiskey. In particular, the Birthday Bourbon 2019 is so much fucking better than when I opened it as is the Old Fitzgerald 11 year. I am actually pretty blown away by both right now. Also the Archives that I aged is so much better than the original. I am going to age the other bottle as well. It makes a huge difference.
(I even really like the EH Taylor Single Barrel, which up until now I didn't get at all)
If you wanna send a sample of the OFBB my way I’d love to try it. I can see if I have anything on my shelf you haven’t had and want a sample of.
PM me. Always happy to share.
$89.99 a good price for Foursquare 2007?
Thats about standard. Buy 3 and get a case discount. If you don't like it I'll take the other two off your hands
Yes it’s fair. I think I paid $79 but it is a great bottle. I drank the Nobiliary again last night, and I think I prefer it to the 2007 but so different and both are great.
