Mine says the age on the store pick label, which I don’t remember the last time this store had an Elijah Craig store pick

It doesn't on that label. Sometimes it does, I think it's up to the people picking. Sometimes there's a second sticker on the side or bottom of the bottle, and sometimes it's just not listed.

10 years is very solid for a store pick. The oldest I think I've seen on EC is 11. Usually 7-11yrs

Random drop-in for the first. A little while later walked into my regular spot greeted with “Man, you have great timing...”

No clue. That’s why I posted the pic to see if someone could tell me.

No extra sticker on the side or bottom? It may just not be on there.

I have 2 what were advertised to be 12 year barrels that don’t say anything on the label. I emailed Elijah Craig but no response.

I think if it’s a store pick it’d be on the front label because the rest of the bottle is just like a regular small batch. It’s been a few years but I think the store pick label I had back then was similar to what he posted. I didn’t know if all the current store picks had ages now.

It’s regularly found between 79.99 and 89.99. It’s last years release so it may become harder to find as time goes on.

Haven't kept up with this thread in a little bit. Was at the store today looking for something new to try and the guy recommended some New Riff single barrel, so I took him up on it. Haven't opened it yet because I don't feel like drinking tonight, but anyone here have any thoughts on it? $49.99 price point, so even if it stinks I won't feel too badly.

I'm the one that got ripped off paying like $65 for a Willett pot still reserve. I see $50 as progress.

I had to read this twice because I poured my one drink of it today which is weird because I haven’t had any in 6 months+. It is way too young for what they ask. I let it sit for six months and I think my tastes evolved even more because now it tastes like it isn’t aged at all and I liked it when I bought it.
Prediction, New Riff is fucked if they don’t go back to their old OKI recipe. Their shit sits on the shelf everywhere and no one cares about it. OKI was $30-$35 and everyone wanted it and it had a following... at 10 years aged for that price.

OKI was sourced from MGP. New Riff has their own distillate and making more money. Their picks, when you get a good barrel, are very good. Don’t sleep on it. In a few years going to be really good.

Given the number of New Riff barrel picks I see get purchased and sold out quickly I think they’ll be OK. Yes it’s young now, but in a few years they’ll have older barrels to sell.
    Why are you angry?

They've essentially only released a 4yr old product, give it time young grasshopper.

Their best product currently IMO is the small batch unless you get a really good pick. Once they release some 8+ year old bourbons, they'll get a lot more popular. Small batch is $40 and very good.

They’re releasing small batch at $40 and single at $50 for 4 year... they’ll survive maybe because it seems everyone survives, but they’ll have to Whistle Pig to keep the pricing they have correct and it will sit. If that Cleveland bourbon can survive, I guess anything can.

I made an impulse buy on a Rare Perfection 14. Lots of interesting flavors and an oily texture that I enjoy. Very odd combination of those qualities and a very light color since it was aged in the cold of Canada. Overall I'm a fan but probably wouldn't pay the $170 msrp again.
