MegaFireBallz is a also an option on Facebook
You can buy any allocated, rare, valuable bottle you want on the secondary market (typically via Facebook.)
It’s fun to dream about paying $120 retail foe a bottle of Pappy 15 that re-sells on the secondary market for... uh, I’m guessing $1,500? It’s also fun to drink all of the great whiskey that’s being made available these days at or below $70 and leave the rare bottles to the Instagram influencers.
Does anyone belong to this one on FB? I'm still too scared to post at this point.
BourBIN Collectible Society 2020
No, but I only see BSM v7.0, v8.0 and v9.0
Russellin4885 emails are going out to Wake County lottery winners today
my wife won a EH Taylor rye
the eagle has landed. Much thanks pperc
I'll be listing that Chatt FF Turkey pick tonight, FYI, first come, first serve
What's the opinion on the Atlanta ASM distillery, doing a virtual tour and sampling with the Daulity, Tire Fire, Fiddler and Resurgens
Their single barrel picks are legit
ASW came in fighting at too high price point. Some of
Their store picks are really good though, ie the Heartwood Fiddler barrel proof offerings. They’re sitting at $70-80 when they should be flying off the shelves at $60.
Anyone tried this?
no but the Makers private selects have all been varying levels of good IMO.
i do wonder how that one is different from Makers 46 cask strength
I emailed Watershed asking about a private barrel pick
No response back yet
Missed out again, had one of my good buddies win along with is wife, they both won bourbon cream lol
Im off this week so decided to dip my toes into bottles pperc sent me. God damn, that Sagamore Spirit Rye did not disappoint. Incredible.
I feel like I'm in the minority in GA but I did not like the Heartwood pick (Toco) I got at all. Especially not at $70
That said, bourbon cream is delicious.
should be the same
I liked Minks’s barrel, but I haven’t tried the second bottle I picked up. I honestly don’t even remember where it’s from, but do agree it’s overpriced.
i do. don't use it really
legit I think - MGP i think?
yep. 6 yr mgp rye picked by people who know how to pick really well
Think their own distillate is aging and due for release fairly soon.
I have recently gone down the rabbit hole of buying up store picks of different bourbons and I have definitely realized that there is a lot of value in finding people who are good at picking barrels.
is The ATM Machine one person that’s a part of South Jersey Bourbon Drinkers?
Bourbon cream is a lotto item in NC?
My Bankhead pick was amazing
haha yep. We had some good bottles in there but also had some head scratchers like that. I just can't believe his luck for them both to win but both so low that there was nothing left.
mgp tingle hit ya.
Not that specific one but a similar one and it’s delicious.
I love the makers wood stave series.
Earn_Marks what do you know about these rumors going around?
worth mentioning that the lotteries are done by county in nc
it’s not a lotto item in every county
nah, i think it was just an inside joke they had. or that the bottle is "money" or something stupid.
it was a 4-5 person picking group for that one i think. did you try anything else yet?
Yeah Tito’s sucks and even with all their money they still have summer ads up
But really I’m not sure. I hadn’t heard anything about unrest, but it’s probably sazerac mad about their performance with certain brands or items. I’ll ask around.
Vaults for me. I think there’s only 20 cases coming to GA.
Tower got Widow Jane Decadence today if anyone is looking for it. I should have bought a bottle earlier, just forgot.
vaults is 15 this year, right?
I think that’s what I read
I think they’re great quality. There’s really nothing else like Duality. Fiddler and Resurgens are quality. Tire Fire is great if you like heavily peated scotches.
Two of their other Single Malts, Burns Night and Marris Otter are fantastic.
Yeah 15 this year, last year was 14YR.
The single barrel picks this year are 13 Year. They were fucking fantastic at 12 years.
Any opinions of Hill Rock?
I was there when they selected it and tasted with them. Personally I really liked it, but everyone varies on what they like.
Sucks you didn’t enjoy it though.
If y’all are interested in doing one I can get all the info for it.
Damn it. I'm hoping a couple flights tonight. Keeping a close eye on this thread. I worked for Scott Safety for years and want to get this and share with some of my former co-workers.*
*no shame November.
I have the Maris Otter Cask Strength I have yet to crack. Heard good things tho
I had tiny sips of them all. Gonna get into them a bit more after dinner tonight. I’ll report back. I’d say the store picks are a notch above Michter’s 10 so far.
I hate Decadence. Bought a bottle and it was gross. Maple syrup.
I like the Solera Aged. I hate the malt.
I know we shit on Whistle Pig, but went back and started sipping my 15 year old as part of my rye week. It's amazing.
Had a good 12 from Gordon’s in Boston and just got their 13 as well. Should be good
