Liquor store caught fire when I was at Clemson. Some guys I knew "helped them clean up" so the top of their fridge was covered with random sooty bottles. Shots of captain just taste different out of a bottle like that. /coolstorybro
Cracked the Stagg JR this weekend. It's damn good. Main flavors I got were brown sugar, cinnamon, and a touch of apple/maybe an apple tart flavor. Like a delicious bourbon dessert.
What’s the secondary price on Weller Full Proof? Buddy found it at a store for $300. I’m curious if that’s in the middle ground between MSRP and facebook or not
I was given a bottle of Lagavulin 16. The only scotch I’ve had recently (which I very much enjoyed) was Balvenie 14 (Caribbean cask.) I’m expecting this to be completely different, but very excited to try it out later in the week!
Funny, I was gifted a bottle a while back. Not a huge scotch drinker so I’ve only had one glass out of it so far. Very peat heavy

I absolutely love peaty scotches and they really kicked off my whiskey loving in general. Lagavulin was the one that got me started. I used to have Gator football watch parties (back when I still cared about college football) with my kids when they were little and finish about a half a bottle myself during each game. I moved on to Ardbeg, but Lagavulin was my go to for so many years. I would describe the smell as liquid bad-aid's.
Love the Caribbean Cask. The Lagavulin is going to be a VERY different flavor. I am not a huge fan of it, though I don't hate it. A buddy loves the peat so he tends to drink it when he comes over (back in 2019 ). I love me some scotch.
I’ll post some pics later in the week, but my mother took a run at buying me whiskey for Christmas. I’ve got a great opportunity to taste some more expensive, readily available bourbons in the near future that I otherwise wouldn’t have purchased.

You have to be signed up on their mailing list prior to them sending out the notice. Then you just reply back with name / # and hope you get picked. I've never won in 10+ years of entering lol
