going to Cincinnati tomorrow for the weekend hoping to hit the new riff distillery and do some searching I AM EXCITE
Good luck- party source, cork n bottle, crescent springs tobacco & liquor those three have been the best spots to me in NKY
850-900ish for a 2020, 1200ish for a 2019. Will vary depending on barrel and whether a short barrel or not
But serious. Lot B or this bottle? I haven’t had this, don’t know anyone that has gotten their hands on one. What else would you drop $1,000 on?
I have one I got for $500. Haven’t opened it so no clue but most people say they are incredibly good. It’s 15 year Brown Forman honey barrels. What else for $1k? Hmmm, not much. Maybe a 1990-91 Wild Turkey 12 year Cheesy Gold Foil (CGF)
I just traded for one on the National site - cost me a 2020 GTS and a 2020 ORVW (so ~$1100ish secondary). I got both of those at retail and they were duplicates so I’m pretty stoked to get a KoK. Every review I’ve seen raves about it. It was Fred Minnick’s 2019 Whiskey of the year
It’s a 2020. Not sure about the barrel. And yea, I got one from my go-to store and won another store lottery. Same exact luck with the ORVWs
Finally got my Pappy Rye to complete the set. I’d say I’m done blowing money on bourbon but I’d be lying. Some of my big wants are Saz 18, OFBB, and King of Kentucky
Alabama ABC is updating their allocated bourbon process by posting which stores will receive which bourbons a week in advance, beginning in February http://media.alabama.gov/pr/pr.aspx?id=14280&t=1
nice! that's incredible. on the 2020 KoK; do you know the bottle count for the barrel? the barrel number should be on the bottle (not on the tube).
It’s going to be an absolute cluster fuck, instead of announcing which stores are getting which bottles, just tell how many allocated bottles they’re getting.
I just stumbled into one as well. Pulled into the store that always hides their good stuff on the way home from work and the rep just happened to be bringing in a case so I snagged one before they could put it in the back
Found a bottle of this, didn realize $199 was nearly retail. https://www.breakingbourbon.com/review/three-chord-whiskey-drummer-batch-01 Wasn’t someone in here looking for this?
Wow.. this is some good stuff. Super smooth for 130. Upfront it could have fooled me into thinking it was a bourbon but this finish is high quality rye.
Finally got to try Old Charter Oak French Oak, fantastic smooth oaky (enough for twice in the name) Cherry goodness. What’s next?
