Just cracked open my Woodford 16 year. Holy bananas, Batman. Just overwhelming banana nose and forward flavor. I actually like it a lot and it has a nice bite for 90 proof, but I still don't think it is worth $129 for the flavor profile. Aging statement, sure.
pperc, got a bombergers, cypb, and some bt store picks Couldn't get full proof to even show up until it was sold out. Kept saying not available. Didn't notice shenks because I didn't read the email
I got a Shenk's and a Johnny Drum's private stock. Couldn't get the Bomberger's or Weller FP out of my cart.
This isn't the generic Johnny Drum. It's the Private Stock. From what I read it does not appear to be the pot still. Externally sourced, and used to carry an age statement of 15 years. Seems a good deal at $42. Gets decent reviews.
Drum is gross IMO. I got a WFP and a Bomberger's today. Missed that CYPB goodness. Can't win them all.
It was weird that pages wouldn't load. Had that issue with full proof the whole time and bombergers for a while
OK for $42 not knowing figured I had nothing to lose since I already missed the others. I'll give it away to an acquaintance, LOL.
Every place I see that has that bottle it just sits there and of course it is never above retail. Granted it is really nice, but still...
I was on the phone with sem because he hadn't done the pa drop before and we were joking about what kind of person drops 2k on that bottle when we realized it sold out He texted me about 5 minutes after we hung up
I do not like Irish whiskey. There, I said it. I am having a glass of Lagavulin 16 because it’s the best surrogate I have. And I would like to add, in closing, that I do not particularly care for Islay scotch. Like, at all.
Owner from my local store has been in KY picking barrels this week. He's been at limestone branch, makers , lux row, prohibition craft spirits, and spirits of french lick
Will always be one of my favorites. as far as Irish whiskey, it’s just too creamy. It tastes good, but I get sick every time I drink it.
What about Islay do you not like? I went through a scotch stage many years ago, and it was my favorite of the scotch offerings. Switched back to bourbon and haven’t had scotch in years, so I may dislike it now?
