I could go and get some more of the BT but the full proof isn’t an option. It’s all already been spoken for.
$25 and this one is a store pick. It’s one per customer but DM me if interested and I could go back a little later and try and grab you one.
i went to 2 stores in chatham today, since i was in the area. it was pretty bleak, i must've gone on the wrong day or something. one of the stores did have loads of four roses- single barrel and sb select. but that was it
Really enjoyed the Woodford DO. Picked up a bottle of Blade and Bow, heard really good things about it.
I figured at that price and proof, it was worth a try since I thought the regular bottle was decent. I haven’t tried the rye yet.
a coworker keeps telling me to try Basil Hayden dark rye, so i finally bought some how is their stuff, in general? i always see it but never bought any before
It's fine, no complaints, but probably just not worth the price. It's all 80 proof so some of the smoothness is just because it's weak. Dark Rye is very different, I think it has actual wine mixed in, and has a very distinct flavor. It's definitely worth trying. 2 x 2 Rye tastes like they filled the bottle with bourbon, dumped it out, and filled it with water. Don't get that one.
i opened the bottle, and i like the basil hayden dark rye. it isn't comparable at all to the other higher proof single barrel bourbons ive been trying. its much sweeter and less alcohol. but not like, southern comfort corn syrup sweet i would probably cook with this.
i keep hesitating about spending $100 on a bottle of barrell bc theres always choices is this list leading me right? is dovetail the best one to start with?
At the time we started the thread, it was a favorite of this board because of the run finish and the unique flavor and it was hard to find. I’ve had it since because I can’t finish it, but this board has always favored it.
only 1 man has the authority to prune the superfluous bourbons from the master list otherwise what are? a lawless society, that's what
