RR10, plan was to drink it to the shoulder but that was like 3” ago now.

 

One of my favorites. The 1920 has my interest if it keeps the same profile at a higher proof.

 

Picked up the Willet today for $90. They’re one of my favorite restaurants in town so why not. Anytime I’ve seen it on the shelf, very rarely, it’s been listed at $150 or more

 

Is it older than 4y?

 

I like the 1920 as much if not more. I haven’t had the 1897 but it’s on the list

 

At a minimum it’s 4. I looked online to no avail

Really good rye, nothing wrong with the bottle. Enjoy it, and keep your eye out for them in the wild around ~$50*









*Disclaimer - I’ve only ever picked it up at that price and it was while I was visiting family in Las Vegas of all places. Regions are weird.

 

No no, I learned that difference rather quickly. Fantastic bar counter decoration though.

 

And now back to the 1920, it is better than the 1910. And that’s not to take anything from the 1910, but just wow. I really need to try more OF products.

Current Oregon pricing has rare breed at 40 and RR10 at 38. Rare breed is the obvious choice right?

If nothing else it’s a barrel proof versus a 90 proof for $2.

 

Speaking of, you burn your buds on enough barrel proofs, RR10 goes down like oaky sugar water.

picked up a McKenna 10 year Bottled-in-Bond. 100 proof is a little hotter than I usually drink but it's damn good.

 

The word hot would never come to my mind in a description of McKenna for me.

 

That’s just a person cutting their teeth on a non 80 proof bourbon. We brush our teeth with 135 proof in this thread so it’s hard to imagine those days.

A local grocery store received my state's first barrel pick (and shipment period) of Full Proof today and proceeded to not only put it out in the middle of a pandemic, which doesn't surprise me, but they also teased the release on Facebook a few hours in advance. 150+ people in line

Also, I’m a little less angered by this since it’s in a smaller, rural town. If you’d have said that a store did that in a major metropolitan area, or even Boise, I’d say they deserve all the bad publicity possible.

The danger in rural communities is drastically different than cities.

Still not great.

 

When are they shipping me my blue bottle? I’ll trade them a green, straight up because I’m generous in these stressful times.
