Thanks. It took awhile for my taste buds to come back for bourbon (no covid - i think). Not drinking as much as I was, but slowly getting back into it.
Not as sexy as the bottles you can get on raffles but I’ll be damned if I didn’t get a rush finding a smoke wagon UU at MSRP, McKenna x 2 @ $35, and a Yamazaki 12 @ $120. Big score for Arkansas
Having never had any Pinhook offerings or even sampled the particular store pick, I’m going to say, definitively and emphatically, no. Please respect my decision, and no interviews at this time or in the foreseeable future. Bless.
might buy Bombergers to celebrate the election. They also have a Weller Full Proof for $320 but I just don’t think I can bring myself to buy it for that much
I tried a 5yr store pick and it was pretty decent. I think their stuff is getting better as the releases start to get older.
What a steal over at Continental! Spoiler **NEW** 2020 SHENK'S (Louisville, KY - Sour Mash Whiskey - 91.2 Proof) Price: $198.99 2020 Release Shenk's is a Kentucy Sour Mash Whiskey made with a substantial amount of rye. Following up the success of the 2019 Shenk's release, where some Chinquapin barrels were utilized during maturation, the 2020 release utlizes a greater percentage of whiskey aged in Chinquapin oak in each batch. The wood has been naturally air dried and seasoned for at least 3 years. The longer seasoning combined with their specified toast and char allows the oak aromas and chaacters specific to Chinquapin oak to fully express themselves. **NEW** 2020 BOMBERGER'S Declaration (Louisville, KY - Straight Bourbon - 108 Proof) Price: $198.99 Bomberger's Declaration distillery bourbon honors the legacy of the former distillery known as Bomberger's in the 1800's and later as Michter's in 20th century. The 2020 Release of the Bomberger's is a flavorful Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a distinctively smooth character that belies its 108 proof strength. The Master of Maturation, Andrea Wilson chose barrels made from special wood that has been naturally air dried for over 3 years. While some Chinquapin oak barrels were utilized in the aging process of the 2019 release of Bomberger's, this year the production team opted to increase the proportion of the bourbon that spent time in Chinquapin oak. The special cooperage elevates the unique attributes of this wonderful bourbon.
Been drinking a lot of Eagle Rare Total Wine store pick the last couple of nights. Really enjoying it.
Let's talk ice balls. My set is getting old and cracking so I'm going to ask for some new ones for Christmas. What are the best out there right now? Also, has anyone made them in batches and set them aside to save for occasions with more people? Or do you just get a second set for those few times you need a second ball for a group?
Is there really a difference? We have a few of these; in the event we're entertaining we'll make a few the day before and store them in a ziploc bag.
Well, on a whim I picked up a Blade and Bow 22, almost certainly going to use it for trade bait. I don’t see myself cracking a bottle that expensive any time soon.
I think it’s amazing, one of my top 5 that I own. But both of mine are batch 9 so don’t have anything to compare it to.
Beautiful. I only have 3 but would love to finish the family. Missing the middle 3, along with Antique.
Welp,I didn’t get any bourbon on release day today but I got a bottle of Foursquare 2008. I’ll take it.
