I rip you fucks off err day.
Old Tyrone A, the first Rickhouse. One of my favorite bottles from 2020 came from A. E had some unique barrels from last year as well. Enjoy
I am a cheap broke mofo so I adjust my taste buds to my pocket book. If something gets beyond my budget I find something I like with in it.
I’m done with the secondary game.. buying that is. I unloaded about a 1/4 of my collection on FB and bought a case of JD barrel proof and a new shed/workshop/place to sneak off and drink said JDBP in peace.
So ECBP B521 looks like it’s going to be 118 proof. That’s pretty low
Gonna be on the lookout for this
Saw that and just hope everyone ignores it to keep concentrating on Buffalo Trace stuff.
13 years, barrel proof , and a sexy blue label
pperc do you think this will be in stores or a whiskey Wednesday shit show?
Ive seen that very photo on another board. Must be the only bottle out in the wild.
This is supposedly from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission
No clue. Depends on how many are being produced and how many PA gets.
Had a pour of an 80s era 107 last night, was really really good. Did a side by side against a recent bottle of 107 and they tasted pretty differently.
Anyone ever had this?
Uneventful trip to the store this morning. I did pick this up. Only had the lower proof before. Also snagged a 10 yr Craig store pick. Have a regular bottle of Craig too, so I did a side by side, and the store pick is noticeably better.
how is this? I was given a bottle a couple years ago it was one of the first batches. Haven’t wanted to open because of that and just thought it would be cool to have one of the first bottles.
It’s decent, better than the lower proof I had before. I’ll be interested to see how they improve with more aging, because that seems to be the biggest drawback now.
I doubt I’ll open it because like I said I think coolness factor of having one of the first batches outweighs the drink of it (if that makes sense) but, maybe I’ll go buy a bottle.
Nice, I’d open it and take a sip
actually went out with about 8 friends who are either fully vaxxed or halfway there and ate and drank outside. It was great but sensory overload. Also friend had some booger sugar hence 4:30 am. Prolly not the best time to bust out some high proof bourbon. Fuck it, I am amped. What a great day. I’ll be in the hangover thread tomorrow and probably Monday. Wooooo
It’s a beautiful day out there today. Call that friend up and rally.
I was gifted a traverse city barrel proof store pick.
Too much burn to taste anything without adding a few drops of water
ive never enjoyed anything Traverse City, not sure what I’m missing
I would not buy it
The older TC picks are sourced. MGP usually but sometimes Dickel. A few stores around me get them. I buy the MGP ones.
Yeah the mgp picks are good
This just says traverse city, mi on the bottle
Pretty cool for High Bank, they are so small to win something like this is a brand changer
Columbus is making damn good spirits, Watershed is always racking up awards for its Gin
Hmmm. Probably their own distillate given the age.
I thought this was a good overview of why so many bourbons are sourced from MGP and how even being sourced by the same distillate they can taste different:
"Little believes making sourced whiskey taste “better” or “different” mostly comes down to three key factors: barrel selection, filtration, and water added when reducing from barrel strength."
RR13 is making its way to market. $69.99 (nice)
Anybody know what secondary value on Weller 107 1.75s are nowadays? Sitting on two and would sell and use the proceeds for something nice if the price was right.
I'm only on one national group and can't find comps.
Not sure as I’ve never seen them in Georgia, but I’d guess around $200 given that the 750 is selling for $90-100.
I think they stopped making them a year or two ago. I love 107 and am content with drinking them but the market is insane right now.
If they’ve stopped making them, then I like your thought of selling them. You can always drink 750s. Wish I could be more of a help, but I’m not really good with secondary prices. I barely track stuff in Georgia through my wife’s FB account.
The 750's are going for $100? Good god. I love the stuff and if I could get it regularly it would be one of my daily sippers but to pay that much is just insane.
I'm blessed to live close enough to OH that I can shoot down and pick up 3-4 with no issues.
Let me know if you’re willing to mule. That’s one of my unicorns I’ve been hunting. Just can’t seem to pay 100 for 1
I pay MSRP so the next one I come across, I’ll send your way. I don’t have any sealed except for the handles.
Bought a bottle of Dovetail for the first time in forever. Something changed because holy shit is it bad.
I've never seen OWA in a store
I've seen it in a few stores for dumbass prices like 150-200. I paid 100 for mine on secondary. I know that's dumb, but oh well.
I've paid 100+ for every one I've owned
Yes if anyone would like to send me a OWA to KC that would be great. Almost never see it around here for retail unfortunately.
