Mine was a little under 2
I feel like I've already seen it in stores and passed because of the low proof and high price lol.
I think 220 ish
Shit Wolves was like what 209? 219? Got the email this morning
Had the oddest bourbon last night…. 110 proof from NC m with an age statement that said aged at least 7 MONTHS. Was super smooth but tasted like grass, totally confusing.
Hope you enjoyed your gin and food coloring.
Yeah I want to say 239
Grab me one please
It was apparently $110/bottle too!
Just texted my guy to see if there were any left
Says he hasn't seen it in store yet here. I can go check the big one if yall want.
If you run across one I’ll take one but don’t go out of your way
Japanese and not bourbon but Nikka Coffey Grain is really nice
They also do a really nice Gin aisle seven
Nikka Coffey was my first asian (spirit)!
Also love me some Baiju
But certainly not your last
Nikka Straight From the Barrel was mine (thank you NYGator.) The Japanese whiskey bar was set high for me.
i wouldn't consider those two in a different range. Bar high is any of the 17 and above's...Yamazaki, Hakushu. Hibiki. In fact, I think you just gave me a theme for tonight. Thanks!
Shit I still haven’t cracked mine. Tomorrow is gonna be a shit show I may drink half my stash
Hibiki 17 goated
i think i've been bitten by the bug, something finally clicked after ~25 yrs of drinking shitty bourbon
i went from, 'I will tolerate this to get drunk,' to 'I cannot get enough of this' , just in the past few months
We all apologize*
* we don't apologize, drink good bourbon you bastard
Do you think you may have a drinking problem?
Japanese gins are incredible, right there with the Scots for me for best in the world
No, but I could develop one if I'm not careful
Only problem I see is not enough bourbon nor hours in the day
I like whiskey but I love you guys more.
Im admittedly a little sensitive to the subject because I’ve had two close friends develop alcohol abuse problems in the past two years.
I know I’ve said this before but whiskey has made me drink less. I definitely used to abuse alcohol in my college years all the way up to early 30s. These days I have a pour every so often, maybe one or two times a week. I’ve also realized I have no use for buying daily drinkers. I have enough good stuff to last me years at the pace that I drink.
Yeah I only drink stuff I actually enjoy the taste of, but on the flipside I usually am a little tuned up after 1 or 2 glasses of barrel proof
local store raffle.
I love bourbon so much that it pretty much all tastes good.
Except Woodford Reserve. Fuck Woodford Reserve. tjsblue
I love the polarization of Woodford and 1792 around here.
They’re good bourbons, Bront!
I'm deathly afraid of flying (I know I know I've tried everything, even xanax just makes it so I can't hold my eyes open but I can't sleep and still terrified) so when I fly I just get loaded. I can't even mix woodford with coke, its all Jack in the air.
I wish they still offered crown.
I drink 2-3 times a week 1-2 pours each time. I’ll never be able to drink everything I have, but honestly I get more enjoyment sharing it with friends. I need more of you guys to come visit to appreciate some of it
That would be nice.
Same. I'm inviting bunch of people over for the seccg and it's open season on everything
Doing a bourbon tasting before the btcg tonight. Comparing regular Elijah Craig to 3 different store picks as well as toasted and barrel proof.
I have one bottle of cheap bourbon and that’s for the occasional time that I have a sour or Manhattan otherwise it’s good whiskey because taste
Spoiler alert: EGBP wins
Unless you're an L 7 Weenie
Oh it's not a competition. Educating my neighbors on how the same bourbon can taste differently by aging or proofing it. Also curious how similar/different the store picks are
To me, woodford is just bland with nothing really special in the flavor, to me. New store had a rare breed for $48 today, so that was nice.
Woodford is meh. WDO is nice
There's a grainy note to wordford on the backend that I just detest
Ive similarly stopped buying “daily drinkers” like dathalfnukkahd said. I do need to admit that my “1-2 pours” need to be put into context that I’m pouring more aggressively than what a 1.5oz jigger would.
Someone gifted me a 375ml of Basil Hayden.
Drinks like water, easy gateway pour for someone new to bourbon.
Now look here at this OGD114 bottle… that guy right there? That’s Basil.
Really puts it into context when you go to a bar and are like damn.... I got some heavy hands
Wish I would have know that. Could have bought my full of ecbp and I know you will need some.
