Just hard to go up $25 when the small batch and single barrel are good enough.
This surprises me. What level bottle are you comparing it to?
I didn’t pay for this bottle, so that’s a fair point.
I LOVE Local Three, easily my favorite restaurant in town. Anyone interested in meeting up for the 1/21 tasting?
Damn I gotta work that night
Did they have anything good for sale in the shop downstairs today?
No, I was interested in doing their bottle your own barrel proof rye but it was sold out.
Would love to try that Toasted Barrel Finish and the 10 Year.
They are quite good
That's what I've heard. Never seen them anywhere to try.
Wouldn't mind trying those others either but 750 and up for a pour is a bit out of my price range.
Did you go with the 25 year or the celebration?
The “deluxe flight” everything over 20 years old
Show us the receipt. We want to see the receipt!
I like how it’s all pretty reasonable and then goes all exponential growth.
Picked up a 4RSBBS store pick
Go Fucking Dawgs. Celebration pour.
Congrats to our Georgia posters!
Hey buddy, I should have some availability to bottle swap with you this weekend.
Yay football, now back to sobriety for the rest of the month
Hope the legs on the table break and they all bust on the floor. Yes I am choosing violence but I don’t care.
Non-double oaked hate speech will not be tolerated in here
Poured this tonight, it is interesting and I enjoy it. That said the tater wax was so thick I had to. It it with a knife, not a joke.
i went to go check out the friday morning allocations. Some old fat guy in his 50's was yelling at the cashier bc there was no shipment to my county the past two weeks.
i picked up a bottle of Barrell private release on the shelf (this, DSX2) , which i guess isn't popular enough for people to yell about?
BCS has good products, they source their stuff so some is inherently better then others but it’ll likely be an enjoyable pour.
i assume "14 year old indiana whiskey" is a euphemism for MGP?
and probably wasn't distilled by a 14 year old in Indiana
Anything sourced from Indiana is MGP.
And their stuff that’s sourced from Tennessee is largely George Dickel. I don’t find it to be nearly as prominent in their blends/finished though.
Yea, that’s right. Their MGP products are much better imo, I don’t particularly care for Dickel products so I tend to avoid those when possible.
Someone should start another distillery in Indiana and everyone would just assume it's relabeled MGP
How much do we need for said startup? Leeroy Jenkins!
I smell a pivot
Sorry if already posted
I just went to the liquor store and they had 3 bottles of Calumet 15 for 129. Should I have gotten one?
If I drained a full-court put for a $4,000 bottle I'd hit the Shooter McGavin too.
See if they have a Sam Houston 15. Heard for about the same price the Houston is better.
Had a similar thought.
I remember grabbing a 10 or 12y Sam Houston in I believe 2020 for $110 and it was excellent.
Fred Minnick put that SH15 on his top 10 this year for whatever that’s worth.
I hate Armida even more now for making me gun shy on trying Seagrass. This stuff is fantastic.
Also, my dad sent me this earlier. $55 at Costco in Henderson, NV.
damn that's nuts to find that much delicious double oaked
No no no
Damn. Any chance he wants to send some to Michigan?
