I have 3 different store picks now and all of them are so damn good. Love that they started making them at barrel proof.
Sweeter than I remember. It’s one of the better Japanese whiskeys I’ve had (haven’t had many, full disclosure.) Weird, unrefined palate review: highland scotch plus half a Splenda packet Basically, a Michael Scott pour.
Should probably put this in the OP for old fashioned instructions https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cg1jaR-jusT/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

damn you are quick to posting, trying to call in a get a ECBP and NULU Double Oaked. Did you get his Lukes brand at all? do we know that juice source? saw one was a 15 year and miss getting it
heard the Luke was MGP. Already have 2 bottles of his ECBP so I'm sitting this one out. That NULU finished bottled sounds pretty good. Still haven't bought NULU or Starlite because I'm cheap I guess or have a hard time spending $95 for those bottles
Had the worst old fashioned ever yesterday, neon maraschino (not a gentlemanly luxardo), sweeter than sweet, with a splash of soda
Had this Thursday COMMENTATOR Montenegro Amaro, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Plantation Dark Rum, Cinnamon Syrup, Reagan's Orange Bitters, Angostura Bitters
I have just returned from the Eimverk distillery and can speak with full authority in stating the following: Icelandic whiskey is shit.
Very young, more of the scotch whisky variant. My American palate prefers deeper oaks and more developed toasted sweet notes. Suppose if I were a Viking staring down the prospect of dying to the cold or sustaining on fermented Greenland shark, this stuff would do.
Kind of interesting how they are doing Birthday Bourbon this year. Wonder if more high profile releases will start doing something similar.
Seems similar to what 4R has been doing with SMBLE recently. I think it’s just a few bottles in their sweepstakes and the rest go to stores like normal. This is just a way for them to get a bunch of people to sign up for their emails
Some kind of national drawing to allow people to buy a bottle. But I don't know if they are doing it all that way or just a small amount. My guess is it's like keef said and it's just a small amount.
Walked in the ABC store today and they accidentally had already put out the EHT for allocation day this weekend. Sold me a bottle and a friend bought one as well. Second friend came not 15 minutes later and they realized their mistake
My local ABC store has the EC BP sitting on the wall like it was leftover from saturday release day, ive bought two so far this week
Hearing the Barrell pick may be in next week. I don't have pricing or any other info, and I have not committed to anything. Once I get prices I will ask for interest here and order based on the commitments. If anyone has any fun label ideas let me know. If I recall correctly I think it is a very solid 8 year MGP. Still waiting on the Stellum.
