Let me know what you think of the Restoration Rye pick, I grabbed one a few weeks ago and its interesting

Very spicy and drinks pretty smooth for 114

 

I can’t decide if I like it or if it is gross. I just keep drinking it because it is the only bottle I brought on this road trip weekend. It is different for sure. VERY different

 

Damn 0-3, struck out on total wine, four roses, and of. Anybody going to Bourbon fest, or Bourbon and beyond this weekend?

 

0/3 as well. My wife hasn't told me lately if she wins or loses, mostly because I know at some point she wants to surprise me with a good bottle one of these days, but also maybe she keeps winning and selling on secondary so she can live a 2nd life

 

My wife went 0-3, hopefully yours has more success.

Damn I may have to go get a bottle based on this post. I ended up drinking half the bottle of Cigar Batch when I was in Birmingham last weekend.

 

Got a bottle of EC Barrel Proof batch 522 today, because I never see it anymore. Felt sad paying $79 for it.

 

Just picked up a RR13 for $125.

Got an 8 year wheated Willett and a 12 year Lux Row. Also picked up an OESK from 4R and a honey barrel finished WR.

 

Three Floyds in Munster (check their website beforehand to see what they have available that day for pick up) then hit up Cask n Cellar Liquor Store or Nicks. Three Floyds Gin is world class and only really sold at the distillery or local restaurants- if you can get it do it

Your likely to find more at Binnys in Chicago than anywhere else unless you really spend a lot of time looking. Northwest Indiana is better than Indy for hunting but you'd need to commit to it as the best stores are spread out in Highland, Dyer, Hammond, and Valpo. Liquor is cheaper in Indiana than IL so the stores along the border due outrageously massive volume in booze and thus get more allocated products than elsewhere in Indiana

 

Old forester is sometimes selling OFBB at the end of tours…

We just stopped in to see if they had anything and they had just put out the 8 Yr Wheated Bourbon.

 

I meant the bar. They have an incredible selection of pours.

also, this is at Michters this morning:

 

Yeah, we just stopped into Willett to see what they had out for sale. Didn’t have time for the bar.

 

The bar is on my list not just for the pours but the food looks fantastic as well

 

If you are going for 100 proof or under I don’t know if you can beat McKenna 10. It is probably my favorite in that class

 

And that Smokewagon UCUF is just absurd at 120 proof-so good and not hot at all

 

I agreed with this the past few years when it was 35-50 per bottle. Now that it’s close to 70 I’m out.

 

I mean I'm so used to getting ripped off and inflation that 70 doesn't even phase me at this point.

 

Thought the BT Distillery experience was pretty bad. It’s just asphalt everywhere and the tour was mailed in. I realize they can do whatever they want because they make good juice but the whole thing made me sour on them a bit.

 

Walked into a store today and saw OFBB sitting on the shelf and thought it’s my lucky day, shiiit 1200 dollars that’s secondary prices. Smh

Picked these up earlier from my friend’s store:
$198 total with tax. Never had the Larceny barrel proof.

 

Grabbed a blanton’s, 2 ECBP C22, and blood oath this morning at retail

 

Have any of yall had Larceny barrel proof? How is it?

I love it. It's not ECBP but it's pretty damn good.

 

I will provide my official review when I crack it this weekend.

I don't think so. An average of $50 a bottle is below secondary for those bottles.
