I did...UNTIL the last one. It was terrible. Almost as bad as that swill you sent me from your friend.

 

That shit was all-time bad.

Legent doesn’t hold a candle to whatever that was.

 

The 22-02? That one seemed to have better reviews than other recent ones

 

Chapter 06: To the Finish

I really despise any American malt whiskeys have tasted to date.

 

Only one I’ve had that I liked was a Benash pick of this:



And it was exceptional.

 

This Red X single malt is amazing. Haven’t found many others I like

I’ve never had it. Is it better than W12?

 

Most would opine “yes.”

 

Letting it open up for 10 minutes then going to see what all the fuss is about

 

I let it sit out for about 5-10 minutes before tasting it.


The nose is caramel , twix bars, and marshmallows. The smell coming off this bourbon is insane. Smells like a s’more.


Taste-It’s definitely still hot. Behind that I’m getting caramel and vanilla.


Finish-The finish is probably the smoothest I’ve had for a 120+ proof bourbon. It didnt burn like hell going down. Not much of a burn at all.

 

Almost withheld the like due to a lack hydrangeas.

 

Anybody near Hattiesburg?

I was joking, but that still doesn’t offset living in Hattiesburg.

 

That is a chunk of change for a bottle. Those purple tops are pretty though.

Found out about 4 months ago that my childhood neighbor now owns my go to store. Just picked up a GTS and Weller CYPB. First time getting a BTAC or a Weller that isn’t special reserve. Very excited.

 

Congrats. That’s awesome!

 

Didn't feel like I had the option to decline the CYPB or ask for anything else after I got the GTS. But, I've heard the CYPB isn't that great. I know everything is subjective to the drinker, but anyone have thoughts on CYPB?

I was more thinking if I could get a Stagg jr or something else for it that I know I like.

 

I think there are plenty of us that would trade you a Stagg Jr. for it

Yeah definitely, in secondary pricing they are quite a bit apart. That being said I agree that Stagg Jr tastes better
