Never seen Blanton's in the wild for retail.
I had a dentist appointment and randomly stopped at a place 45 minutes before open afterwards. 3rd in line. They had at least a case.
Guy that’s 1st in line says he’s leaving and coming back because a store 10-15 minutes down the road had 2.5 cases of Blanton’s survive the line. He gets back like 30 minutes later saying he was able to get one
SugarShaun you don't really drink, correct?
This all started with me asking RockHardJawn39 for a recommendation on a bottle for my stepdad for Christmas either in 2020 or 2021, I don’t really remember.
I asked about for $100, he said spend $50 and get OWA instead of anything for $100.
Whole thing blew my mind and then I started trying to step up my stepdad’s collection. Enjoyed getting my hands on good stuff.
He and my SIL’s husband are big fans so try to get stuff for both of them and have also sent some stuff to TheFreak55
Though when I go to GA in May, SIL wants to do tasting so hopefully I’ll find something in his collection I like and maybe start keeping some
My stepdad has been loving it. His birthday was last week and I gave him a bottle of Eagle Rare and Larceny BP plus my mom gave him a Blanton’s (all of this came from TMB) so he was blown away
I see this stuff in the wild weekly, but prices are all over the place.
Some of those don’t look bad to my ignorant eye but that SR at $99.99 is wild
WSR is the worst bottle in that photo
I’d probably buy the eht at $69
That went through my mind so I’m glad to see someone else say it
WSR at $99 is ridiculous.
that ECBP coming your way blows all of those out of the water
I am excited for that.
Your message speaking so highly of it has me pumped
I would probably agree but Larceny BP is pretty damn good too. Especially if he likes weated bourbons.
NYGator my buddy tried the pickle pick this weekend and is not a fan of ryes. He really liked this.
I also will message speaking highly of it.
oh for sure, the c922 was one of my favorites last year. sending him a store pick ECBP that drinks way above its weight. Same picker as that one I ran for 15ish TMBers last year.
Any of our Georgia guys seen the Fiddler finished in Amburana barrels? Would be super interested in trying that out
Yeah a group I’m in picked a barrel of it
I'd take that blantons price all day. everything else is bad
I’d be all over that EHT & Blanton’s at those prices tbh. Cost be different here
EHT >>> Blantons
Oh right. I got one of those from you. That one is excellent.
I can agree with that but out here in cali, blantons is a big trade commodity. I would buy them at a decent price just to trade for other stuff.
Like what? I’m now curious as to the Cali trade market
lol well im in a big socal trade group and blantons is basically the trading coin. people collect them just to get enough to trade for the big stuff. pappys, btac etc.
but a couple blantons can get you a decent amount of good bottles. ec18, w12 etc.
Yeah an then two eagle rare = 1 blantons
I’ve been slammed at work but sent over the Venmo last week NYGator , will get the label done tomorrow.
Where is this?
How many Eagle Rares for a WLW
This is fascinating
G&s in Ardmore
What is the ratio of Stanley Nickels to Schrute Bucks?
This is pricing from a local group I'm in here in Cincy
A lot of that is pretty accurate for secondary pricing
For sure, just posted since we were on the topic.
How is WR double oak? And how much should I pay for it? Feel like it’s way overpriced at my local place.
Still new to bourbon but really starting to enjoy it. Buddies say I need to try the double oak.
So far my favorite has been the Russell’s Reserve 10 year.
I enjoy the WR DO. I think retail around here is $50?
Detlef Schrempf is a big fan…..
It's usually around 50-60 I think.
I like Russel's Reserve more personally. Really good deal for a 10 year age statement.
WR Double Oak can be a little sweet. I also prefer the Russell's 10
probably around 20. ive seen people do a combo of blantons and er
Sign me up
I will take that deal.
Anybody heading over to Rome tomorrow?
Wife and I both struck out on total wine lottery
How is Michters? Almost went with that today just because of the bottle but went WR DO instead.
Michter's is quite good, especially for the price point
