Hey fam. Making some cunty bruschetta tonight for a light dinner date. doing three types:

    Sausage/peppers/goat cheese
    Goat cheese/strawberries/arugula/balsamic
    Prosciutto/asparagus/avocado

Would you bake any of this with the bread or just top it after the bread is toasted? Seen several people saying both ways when googling. Was planning on slicing the bread, drizzle EVOO and S&P and baking. Then rubbing each piece with a clove of god's greatest creation: garlic. Just do that and then put the toppings on afterwards?

Would you put the Prosciutto on just cured or would you cook it some way at all? I've only ever put it on homemade margherita pizzas and baked it in the oven on the pizza

    TIA

was thinking that one and the 2nd, minus the strawberries and balsamic, because of the goat cheese. I guess the garlic isn't terribly important because both of those have a lot of flavor

Anyone ever get Trader Joes ground beef? Wife bought some this week and I made burgers tonight with it. Right when I opened the package it smelt kind of funky and the meat had a weird texture when I was forming the patties...like super dense and mushy almost like a paste. Anywho, they weren't the greatest burgers.

Grilling up some steaks for Mother's Day. Thinking of doing Hasselback potatoes for one side, some sort of salad. Could use some help on a few other ideas to go with the rest of the lineup. Thanks.

I'm probably going to make my favorite chili recipe (not real chili apparently, has beans) this weekend. I wanted to add some chunks of chuck in instead of just ground beef. Do I just brown and then add in like a braise?

Had Franklin BBQ yesterday for lunch, cross-posted on the BBQ topic. This is where Lyrtch should have gone. The brisket was simply incredible. The bark was excellent and perfectly seasoned, the smoke ring was on point, and it was perfectly moist and tender. Tasted the sauces, but they were truly unnecessary and detracted from the brisket. Pictured below is 4 pounds of brisket, 2 pounds of ribs, 1 pound of sausage, 1 pound of turkey, and .5 of pulled pork split with six other guys.
