I’m the opposite. Prime rib> grilled ribeye bc its not quite as greasy. Still love a grilled ribeye though
Anybody been watching Top Chef? Obviously they all have crazy skills, but I've been consistently blown away by Buddha's presentation skills.
They’re doing prix fixe curated menus now, no large dishes, probably easier to manage after the Netflix fame, but it was excellent.
The Zahav Synergy Series with Gavin Kaysen was really good. I’d be interested in the real restaurant. For that matter, Husk with Sean Brock and Gavin was really good too.
Have not been to Audrey or June. The Continental reminds me of Brennans. Best prime rib and old fashioned I’ve ever had. Sean served the prime rib table side. Joyland is incredible too.
I haven’t been to June, but the Continental is outstanding. Joyland is a top notch burger, and Audrey was great too. Continental has the best prime rib I’ve ever eaten and it’s not close.
Also, if you get a chance to make multiple trips to the Continental , go around 5 one day and try to get a prime rib burger ticket. Only give out 15 a day I think and it’s the best burger I’ve had.
Pineapple salsa I got lazy with and didn’t grill the pineapple, but it’s pineapple tomato, a red chili, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, a half teaspoon of red wine vinegar and maybe the same of honey and salt. Skirt steak was marinated in roasted garlic, lime juice, orange juice, red onion, salt, paprika, garlic and onion powder and some achiote. finished with a pickled jalapeño crema. Sour cream, cream, spice blend I make up, some jalapeños I pickled myself seeded, cilantro and lime juice.
Pan roasted a pork tenderloin to medium. Soy bbq sauce and whole grain mustard glaze. Served with salad from a bag.
Terrible at these pictures buddy got a bunch of big mangrove snapper and dropped a few off. Had a couple ripe mangos laying around -
Been in Seattle for almost a week. So many great food options. Wife wanted Italian for birthday so we obliged. Found a place called la Spiga Osteria. Pretty damn memorable. STUZZICHINI DEL GIORNO a sampling of small bites to entice your appetite, with italian meat, artisan cheese, preserved vegetables, olives and piadina chips GNOCCHETTI DELLA FIERA ricotta gnocchetti with sausage, spinach, tomato and pancetta PASTICCIO DI MELANZANE roasted eggplant slices layered with béchamel, mozzarella, tomato sauce and parmigiano reggiano PAPPARDELLE AL CONIGLIO pappardelle with a braised rabbit, white wine and herbs sauce
…continued TAGLIATELLE AL RAGU tagliatelle with traditional ragu bolognese (meat and tomato sauce) TORTA DI NOCCIOLA flourless chocolate and hazelnut cake SORBETTO refreshing lemon sorbet from our friends at gelatiamo PANNA COTTA AL CARAMELLO vanilla panna cotta with bitter caramel and crispy meringue crumble
The gnocchetti and panna cotta stole the show. But, I have never ate at another place where everything that was had was so well executed. Fantastic.
Thinking 8 pics will load onto a single TMB post is a very important reason but probably not even top 10 reason of why you are not a mod!
I can say with almost absolute certainty that a.tramp has eaten at at least one Seattle area Texas Roadhouse this week. It’s like oxygen to Texans and there’s no way he’s gone a week without it.
