Lagerstrom's tomato soup with olive oil drizzle, scallions, and pepper to top. Lahey's no knead bread with provolone, Havarti, and Colby jack. Used a 2:1 butter to mayo spread for the bread.
Can I get a few good restaurant recommendations for Nashville. Going for a bachelor party . Some folks have asked for good steakhouse. But any sort of top notch food recs would be appreciated.
we really liked Adele's the last time we were there. not a steakhouse but the food and cocktails were top notch.
He’s not involved with Husk anymore, from what I understand, and I would recommend Continental over Audrey. Audrey is great, but Continental is better. Especially for a bachelor party, imo.
Anyone have a go-to rub or sauce for racks of pork? Anyone try smoking these with any success? Got one of the dinner parties again tonight and doing 2-3 of them as the main. Planned on just doing SP&Garlic + a couple of herbs rubbed on and grilling but open to making some fancy adjustments if anyone has success/favorites.
Blackened catfish topped with new mexico red chile sauce, puerto rican rice and beans, pork belly, and roasted cabbage.
Ended up smoking the racks of pork with some apple and pecan wood Made an apricot jam/glaze that was a pretty amazing compliment to the pork flavor Did the balsamic grilled grapes bc IronChef and they did not disappoint
I'm glad grilled grapes caught on I grilled some pears recently with a savory mustard seasoning that was good as well as some grilled mangos with a chili lime seasoning. Grilling fruit is where it's at.
grilling peaches in the summer is the best. put them in savory flank steak salads and over vanilla ice cream for dessert.
I had a grilled watermelon with crushed pistachios, balsamic and arugula to accompany seared foie gras once. It was delicious.
once upon a time I remember Eathan Edwards wanted to start a bougie eating thread, but I did the chefs tasting and pairing at Le Bernadin easily one of the best tasting menus I've ever done and worth if you're into that kind of thing
Fair enough. If I eat by myself at Spoon and Stable again I’m putting it there. $150 dinner alone has to qualify.
my wife and i are now arguing the line, is average entree price + 2 average drinks > $100 the bar? by this Spoon counts but Bar La Grass probably doesn't (for our minneapolis gang)
Bar La Grassa is super cunty though. That squid ink pasta is exquisite. I used to go to Minneapolis for work by myself.
i've only tried a few things on the menu because my wife has made the lobster eggs a must order every time we go so that's half the order at least never had the squid ink there, usually get the raviolo and carbonara
Picanha sous vide then seared on grill, spinach and mushrooms, Baked potato Soooo good. Pic not amazing but damn it’s tasty
I could post multiple S&S Synergy Series which is a multiple of what a normal night is at S&S but at some point it seemed a bit much. That place is great though. My son goes to school with GK’s kids and to raise money for the school he auctioned off a dinner for 8 hosted at the winner’s house and it went for $25k. Here is one pic though: And I would definitely call BLG cunty (as well as sister restaurant 112). The orange gnocchi is ridiculous. I was also amazed at the roast chicken. I would never order something like that but it was a work dinner done family style and I’m glad I took some.
Lyrtch flies in his private jet to 3 Michelin star restaurants nationwide whilst preaching to us about climate change & sustainability. Liberal elite!
this was the idea behind a separate thread since historically this has been "i made this" style posts
Any taste difference between smaller and larger lobster tails? Any difference in quality between what I can get at Whole Foods versus using one of the frozen, mail order Maine lobster services?
Yes the steak is good but the pan sauce was the star. Shallot and thyme pan sauce with homemade chicken stock, Dijon, a couple dashes worstershire and mounted in butter.
