Kenji’s 3-ingredient mac is solid but it can feel a little one note if you don’t add some texture or acidity. It’s good in a pinch but seeing as we’ve all got extra time on our hands, I’d go with something more labor intensive
Was it this video that inspired the post? Also he had to be super high to make a mac and cheese quesadilla.
I discovered bacon “with the rind” this week. It’s amazing. Cook it up crispy and have some chicharrón esque bacon
Local Piggly Wiggly. Had never seen it there before. It is Mariah’s brand. With the high demand for food I’m starting to see a lot of random brands and varieties of meat and produce show up that I hadn’t seen before.
Super easy. I think this was all I used for the recipe Chickpeas Tahini Whole clove garlic (2) Olive oil Lemon or lime juice Salt Pepper Cumin Paprika Blend in a food processor. Enjoy.
Yup. It’s “smoother” if you remove the skins, but no one has that much time, even when self-isolating. And I use a 2:1 chickpea to tahini ratio.
Awesome. I’ve just recently (and especially since the world has slowed down) started going hard on hummus and I’m eating enough to consider making it myself. Appreciate the reply I award you internet likes
hey i just made this the exact same way he did, except i added sliced avocado right before flipping it. prettay prettay good
I bought them on amazon on prime day one year, I’ll look for you, they’re a set. They’re not terrible but not great knives.
I used 2 12oz cans (I think, maybe 14oz - whatever a normal can of chickpeas is) to about 12oz tahini.
Wife is making tempeh burrito bowls tonight and I'm going to do my first attempt at tostones. Will report back
Hey all you cool cats and kittens. I’m doing prime rib for Easter dinner (just wife and I) anyone have some recommendations on a nice side dish? Something not so usual or plain.
I am definitely talking out of my ass right now though. I never had a real breakfast taco, not even sure what it is....soft shell but you switch the beef for scrambled eggs?
i eat breakfast tacos of various types multiple times a week there's probably no better and easier food to make for breakfast when in a time pinch
i was absolutely sure the first response would have the words « sweet summer child in it » I am an absolute rookie, I always liked Mexican food but once I visited Houston it got to another level. I am just not good enough to replicate what I ate down there. It was glorious
I’ve been spending more and more time on breakfast every day in quarantine. This morning I looked up and I’d been up and showered an hour before I ate. Avocado toast with a perfectly poached egg and cilantro lime crema was fire.
even a shitty breakfast taco is great, but if you get better salsas, better tortillas (making flour tortillas is also very easy, but we have great local tortillerias) its like exponential growth in deliciousness dont even need protein beyond properly scrambled eggs (preferably in reserve bacon fat)
