Does Maeve’s rebellion (ie Ford’s rebellion) mean that Lee lost his chance to get Abernathy out of the park? I’m assuming that’s what that shot of him in the empty warehouse signified.
i get that part but to have bernarnold just jump right back into the mix without any sort of confrontation with ford seemed strange

This sounds more concrete and less "Jon Snow is dead". How dead is Ford? Jonathan Nolan: Oh, he’s dead.
Is he “Anthony Hopkins is available for pilot season” dead? Nolan: Working with Anthony Hopkins on this season of TV has been one of the greatest pleasures and privileges for Lisa and I in our careers. It’s been an incredible experience, and we’ll see where our story takes us. Still think Ford could be a host now. He, like Bernard, will be killed by hosts and remade.
Forgot to mention it last night but the technician was listening to Glass Candy when jerking it to Hector. Major cool points to Nolan/Joy for the artist and song choice.
"And on Sunday, Westworld ended on a viewership high, making it the most-watched original first season in HBO’s history." also, not counting the finale "Across all platforms, the drama hit an average of 12 million weekly viewers"
been reading some post-show interviews Did Dr. Ford also run this “SW” world? NOLAN: One of the things we’ve established is Westworld is the proto-park. It’s the first park. The other parks, you would imagine, are extensions. In the Disney universe, you start with a parking lot in Anaheim, California, and then you grow. We would imagine, yes, Ford has had a great deal of sway over everything we’re seeing.
thought they left it open enough for a future appearance. would be a fun reveal a couple seasons down the road that he's survived living in the park this entire time or something
couple more - Asked for three words each to describe season 2, Nolan says “total f–king mayhem,” while Joy added “madness and transcendence.” - Could the host that Ford is printing when Theresa is killed be a copy of himself, one that Dolores actually shot? The producers called the question “really, really good” and wouldn’t answer it directly, but did note that Ford’s “sacrifice is real.”
One last thing Maeve's last shown narrative was "mainland infiltration" and it seemed she decided on her own to stop and go find her daughter. But, she takes off her bag and leaves it on the train when she stands up to go
How many of you were invested in this show purely for the action, romance and/or drama? The majority of my interest was the mystery, and now that's been solved. So will that harm the appeal in season 2?
It's a cerebral show, they're not just going to call it quits on the intrigue. They're going to introduce more elements/pieces to the puzzle and work from there. And I don't think the mystery has been solved.
I interpreted her getting off the train as the same. They tell her she isn't the first to try it. It's all programmed, etc. I think they're showing her story vs Dolores' story to show the "expected" rebellion that has happened a few times, vs the true way for the hosts to achieve consciousness (the maze).
Yep. The bag she told Felix she needed. Also random gripe, but I hate seeing a show give 0 attention to the fact that 9 shots just came out of a revolver. Unless all the guns here have unlimited ammo in the park.
Wouldn't mind season 2 to have elements of some survival horror. Bunch of guest stuck behind enemy lines being murdered, dismembered and tortured by the hosts. Some of the host help the guest based on old programming traits. I could do with a lot more visually stunning shots of Wyatt's/Dolores' monster beast people roaming through all the parks. The dichotomy of a host seeing the horn beast in a place like Futureworld and then murdering a guest.
no big deal it's the same company that apparently bought a majority share in the park because a mid-level manager fell in love with a robot. they don't really take money too seriously
I liked westworld, but what it boils down to is human vs machine, and I don't think that part of the storyline is very original. not to mention the "maze" and william just seemed to disappoint and was kind of a let down.
I swear I've seen dump say that about a bunch of episodes of TV since this board existed. Dude certainly lives in the moment.
Just finished re-watching episode one. A few observations: 1. Were the flies supposed to play a bigger roll and we're scratched at some point? They land on host faces like 4 times in the pilot including one host glitching out and Delores chilling in an interview room. 2. Hector shoot em up scene with "Paint it Black" is still bad ass. 3. Still don't totally follow Abernathy going all psycho talk with Ford and Bernard. Is he actually sentient or just drawing on old memories? 4. Still want to know what Bernard says to Abernathy right before he is decommissioned. 5. Feel like it's sorta crazy the photo of William's fiance shows up 30 years down the line like this, but I don't really care.
Hey 'Best Season Finale' would be a great thread-starter if there isn't one already. Off the top of my head season 4 of Boardwalk Empire season finale was amazing. The Sopranos I'm certain has few up there.
This was revealed via subtitles in a foreign country. It wasn't anything major. I posted it a few episodes ago and spoilered it in case it ended up being significant but since it wasn't, Bernard basically told him "you will have revenges on no one." In that same vein, the location of the park seems to have been revealed via Finnish subtitles. I will spoiler that. Finnish subtitles provided... Spoiler coordinates. When Maeve opens the note from Felix telling her where her daughter is instead of putting Park 1 etc. it had coordinates. Those coordinates are for this location - https://www.google.fi/maps/place/9°...5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d9.9166667!4d115.5333333 That is one of China's artificial islands. You can read about them here - http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...een-building-in-the-south-china-sea.html?_r=0 When Bernard is talking to Maeve about how her "escape" was programmed he begins to talk about what she's been scripted to do once she reaches the main--then she angrily cuts him off. So he was almost certainly about to say something about what to do once she reached the mainland which would be in line with a man-made island location. Several folks in here had that theory
Arnold told Delores that as they went through their loops they would either make it to the center like she did, or go to the edges and find madness.
Also, when Maeve asked him how many there were like her he said a handful, she says "And you just wipe them clean and send them back to be fucked and murdered?" He responded, "no... most of them go insane."
Have you rewatched anymore? I'm interested in how Ford seems in the early episodes given we know he wanted them conscious all along.
re-reading the opening scene's transcript http://transcripts.foreverdreaming.org/viewtopic.php?f=738&t=28857 its arnold talking to dolores before she the park opens
3. drawing on old memories through the reveries. but, as been said before, the maze is such you make just ONE FALSE STEP you go crazy. its why dolores has had 30 years+ of messing up until she finally got it right.
one thing i most certainly want to see in season 2 is more armistice she was creepily (the kiss on the window, blowing felix's ear) incredible thought she stole the show also mad props to the show runners for letting her rock that yeezy season shit
1. I agree. She was awesome in the finale. 2. I had to google yeezy season. Is Kanye really selling t-shirts for $195? Wtf
tbh i'm not sure many people are buying his clothing line i think adidas agreed to the line to get his shoe money the better part is the people going nuts paying $60+ for his $3 gildan tour tees
