any semblance of an above average writing group combined with the concepts and shots would make this show amazing
Does anyone know of a good write up or summary I could read through season 2? Didn’t want to sift through 72 pages but I don’t know what’s going on
Per Wiki: After killing Dr. Ford from the end of season one, Dolores converts and leads the other hosts in killing many of the other guests in the few weeks that follow. She seeks to find a way to get out of the park to continue her revenge, and knows she must recover her father Peter's "pearl" to do so and unlock Westworld's true secrets with it. Charlotte Hale, who was attempting to smuggle Westworld data through Peter, also seeks the host as she cannot call for extraction without that data. Bernard still struggles with the fact he is a host, and comes to learn that Dr. Ford still has significant influence on him and the park. Maeve is aided by Lee and Hector to find her daughter, while learning there are many other parks to Westworld. The Man in Black is forced to come to terms with why he has spent so much time in the park when he encounters his daughter Emily Grace.
shit it’s debatable if season 2 is worth watching season 1 had as much potential of any show I’ve watched though. I loved the premise for this show
Eh wasn’t a terrible first episode. Random 7 year jump in time. Guess I’ll see where the season goes.
Remember that ending in season 2 that was seemingly in the future with the Man in Black somewhere in the park? Wonder if they will ever pay that off.
I also did not hate the first 2 episodes of this season, so by that metric it is already much better than season 3. I'll ride it out and see if they make a fucking mess out of a decent start
In a vacuum they’re cool episodes with enough action, intrigue and dialogue to keep me interested. But as a whole it’s incredibly difficult to understand and remember who is who, what the fuck is going on, and where any of this is heading. I would have been fine just being in the park each year with a different era/theme and ultimately the same issue of the hosts becoming more aware.
That first season was so good but I always felt like they had the hosts go completely sentient too soon.
From the S3 recap I watched, apparently 75% of the characters on the show were actually Dolores in different bodies. It also got really fucking old in S2-3 that they used characters deaths to have big emotional scenes only to print them a new body the following episode. It's cheap as shit
Still trash. Don't give a fuck about any of the characters. Maeve's "personality" is extremely played out. I'd love for Paul's character to die (like, actually though) I'm pretty much just curious about the locations. Nice use of the high line lol
The Golden Era park has potential but would have been better served to be Season 3's setting, even if it was just for a few of the characters. IMO it seems like the writers showing that they fucked up going away from the whole park scenario for an entire season of Shadowrun bullshit. Hopefully a lot of the season takes place in that park and it's not just "a park" that they put in this season to remind us that this show used to be about people going to themed reality parks
For sure. One of the most fascinating themes of this show was always how people would act when there were no rules. I hope to see some more of that.
The glowie rave suit and the giant cocktail smoking dome keep him alive. Jeez guys pay attention That scene was probably supposed to be a real "damn that's ruthless" scene but fell so unbelievably flat
I can’t decide whether to try to finish this or ozark. Both of which I am skeptical of but mentally incapable of leaving out there unfinished after three seasons with one to go.
So I watched some of season 3 and just really didn’t enjoy it and stopped. Can I just watch the recap and start in on season 4? Really enjoyed the first two seasons
I feel like this season has been pretty great so far. it’s certainly not the same show we started with but it’s still telling a compelling evolution of that story.
Season 4 is more of a "in the background" binge for me as i play online poker or draft NFL best ball teams today, but it's definitely an easy, enjoyable watch so far. I'm fine without all the intruigue and suspense, they'll never capture what season 1 was, but all the important characters are back and getting 100% of the screen time. i'll be in for the duration, barely remember what happened in Season 3 though
This has been a pretty good season. A lot like season 2 I think, though I don’t totally remember it. Nothing will tip 1, but way better than 3.
I stopped both westworld and ozark after S3E1 and have zero regrets. There’s so much good tv being pumped out that I don’t feel the need to finish something I’ve lost interest in. Especially something like westworld where you have to pay attention every minute or you’re lost.
Good ep, between watching multiple recap shows on YouTube each week and trying to pay close attention I feel pretty comfortable with what’s going on. No clue how anyone could passively watch this show and have any idea wtf is up.
Edit: I’m an idiot and thought this was the BCS thread but won’t delete for shaming purposes. Not sure what confusion anyone could have. It’s all wrapping up but perhaps it’s more how they went about it you’re not in agreement with?
Well one problem is I don't remember anything about last season. What is the deal with bernard and the NA? Does he know what happens in the future because he just is constantly running algorithms? What was the gate he opened? Jesse is a robot right?
I know the show is confusing but most of these seem like you don’t remember anything about this season.
