Need to add the NHL element to it. If the offensive player puts himself in a vulnerable position at the last second on what would otherwise be a clean hit then it’s no penalty. Put the onus on both players to make the game safe.
Well considering it's a defensive issue, could make the rule exclusive to players on defense. Or make the rule any player that falls to the ground AFTER the completion of the prior play must sit out the rest of the series. Team may use a time out to get said player back on the field.

I'm okay with those changes and think they're good for the game. I also think cutting out a billion commercial breaks would be a good thing but that is never going to happen. These networks promised the B1G and the SEC a lot of money so it's probably going to get worse.
