In love with the Maritza chick.
Have watched 2 episodes already. Colorado-Colorado State game looking like a bust so might just go Narcos all night
and miss @gfa vs standford?
Remember to spoiler stuff since the season was just released.
On episode 3
Pretty solid so far
Lol Pablo dies
For reals? Damnit man!
Really though... How are you gonna spoil a show that's dramatically retelling a historical event
No spoilers is retarded
Loved episode 2. Wife gave me a beej while watching.
Action really picked up in episode 3.
Not everyone is a historian of the Colombian drug trade
I remember some of the major events. The storming of the Palace, the presidential campaign with the plane blowing up and his escape from prison. Most of the other smaller details tho are not something I would know.
I think the spoilers are more for those of us who haven't seen an episode and want the element of surprise.
See he gets it. Plus I was 9 when he was killed, and I barely remember jack shit from back then, much less anything Pablo related. All this shit is new to me, basically, although I already knew he was dead.
You should renew your vows.
I hate you.
Also, EP4 is the ripe tits. Am pleasantly surprised at how good the season has turned out.
Just finished it. Damn good.
I want to have babies with Tata.
Enjoyed s2 but thought things really inched to a crawl unpleasantly in the last couple of episodes.
Pleased that they clearly have plans to continue telling the story.
NF annouced 2 more seasons. I guess theyre taking the story past Pablo (SPOILER ALERT!)
Oh also I love CIA Bill.
just finished. best show on netflix by far. viva colombia
love the cameo by the real agents peña and murphy too
When does that happen? Is it obvious? Only on ep2
Last episode. I didnt know it when I was watching, but obvious if youre looking for it.
Fantastic season and show. I actually enjoyed the later eps with his father
enjoyed it. I want to know how accurate the pablo on dad's farm presentation was. How did they know he was there? Never heard that before.
Great ending. The final 15 minutes was pure magic. Really set up the series going forward.
That was them at the bar right?
Anyone else a little annoyed at the number of times they "surround" him on two sides with 100 men so that he can walk or drive away?
Just finished episode 4. Pablo is one hell of a smart man. That ruse he got Limon to pull with Maritza was genius.
they kinda made that seem like it was Limon's idea...
A dime a dozen in Medellin. It was like walking around a damn spanish beauty pageant.
Just started season 2.
I loved the dude saying "you're making a mistake. Pablo can't move" as pablo walks up to him.
Don't know why you need to have spoilers
Do like me and not open the thread until you've seen it
Anyways, loved this season. That real life pic with Murphy and Pablo was the tits
I enjoyed the scenes with Pablo on the farm with his dad. He seemed content but his ego even got the best of him with his dad.
that never happened
what's the best book or whatever for learning more about this? you're colombian/have talked about this some on here in the past, figured you might be the one to ask
killing pablo by mark bowden. same guy who wrote black hawk down
damn, i read that after season 1
just finished episode 6
god damn at the house scene, mama escobar is a fool for that shit. tata though
the german/Nazi insults are the best
The whole concept of him hiding, but just being on the outskirts of Med, is silly. It would be like the most wanted man in Los Angeles staying in Santa Monica. But that about sums up Colombia and Pablo.
how is that silly? he had nowhere else to run to.
He had plenty of places in Colombia (towns, mountains, jungles). They also allude to it in the book. He just didn't want to run. Which got his bro in law killed, i.e. silly. That's just classic Pablo. Do what ever his stubborn ass wants. At the same time, his capture was inevitable. I don't blame him for living normal in those final days.
Actually there is a line from a chief or something about him being so pompous to not even hide more than a few miles from where all your crimes are happening.
I believe the police search guy in the show is not the actual guy that lead the search. I think the search cop was there the whole time and not killed, if I remember correctly.
i agree he didn't want to run, but he didn't exactly have hideouts outside of antioquia (the state where medellin is located)
except that didn't really happen. he was moving from hideout to hideout in his final days. i also don't think his manpower situation was as dire in real life as it was on the show.
hernandez lead the search bloc the whole time in real life. carillo was a made up character.
Well my point is that he could have put in a better effort for hiding. This was my thought before the show. Ppl will say with the right amount of money you can disappear, etc but he didn't even try. I'm rooting for him to high tail it to Panama and i know it never happens :(
agreed. besides arrogance and pride, he probably felt like he had too much to lose from a financial aspect to run away.
Did I get the impression he was running low on cash at one one point? Not low but as if x millions was too much to pay for something? I forget what scene.
