Newer father? Set expectation very low Flowers and a card at best, its not like at fathers day you will be showered with gifts
Kind of, daughter just turned one and wife is 8 weeks along with baby number 2. It's still really early but with the hormones going I don't want a shitty gift to set off the water works. T&P Bo Pelinis
Ok, well you make that going overboard mistake but don't say I didn't warn you You should buy her a vacuum and really set the bar or better yet a playstation
My wife was 11 weeks as of yesterday. Pretty cool to think about. We had 6 years of infertility and 3 failed IUI's and were successful on our first IVF transfer. Just starting to wrap my head around the reality of it all after years of telling yourself it won't happen. Where do I start old masters? Any books that are a must read?
For all you dads out there that read this book, the bar has been raised. My three year old has listened to this over and over this weekend.
Well I was going to wait until our doctor appointment next week to post this, but since you've forced my hand, we've got number two on the way. We got the positive test exactly 2 years to the day from the date we got the positive test on our first, so I'm guessing the due date ought to be right around our oldest's birthday.
Bo Pelinis I went through this almost 7 years ago with my youngest. He spent a month in the NICU and now is wide open as a paper sack.
being in the NICU can be excruciating. time stands still when all you want to do is fast forward. best advice I can offer is to be patient. celebrate tiny milestones like she achieved last night. it can be a roller coaster so prepare yourself for ups and downs.
What time does everyone have for their kids' bedtime? Our son is 8, we usually have him in his room by 8pm and lights out by 8:45 to 9.
Our 2.5 year old goes down at about 8 every night. His routine only takes about 5 minutes though. Its basically just change and toothbrush. We try to read books beforehand downstairs so that it isn't connected to a bedtime routine.
The boy has his 1st semi formal dance friday and it turns out he has a girl friend. Excited for him Teaching him how to dance and told him always keep three bibles between him and the girl
our 2.5 yr old goes down about 8 every night. read books for about 10 min and then shes usually out in about 15 min
10 month old - brush his one tooth, in crib by 7 pm 2 yr old - brush teeth, bed time story, in bed by 7:30 pm 6 yr old - brush teeth, bed time story, in bed by 8:30 pm, somehow winds up in our bed by 2 am
Our 3 year old stalls like crazy. His bed time used to be 7:30 but he's a master of pushing it to 8ish. my wife was gone alll weekend and he napped and went down no problem for me but he knows how to stall with her. Yesterday she was back and no nap/pushed bed time to 8:15.
Mine stalls like that too. She'll want to read another book, then she wants to sing another song, then she needs to go potty, then she wants to give each of us a billion kisses, then she wants to say goodnight to the dog, and so on and so forth. When I put my foot down and say "no, go the fuck to bed," she starts to cry like crazy and it just gets her more worked up and keeps her up longer. It's worse when my wife and I have had long days and don't feel like pushing, but if I can get things moving early, we're usually okay. If it were solely up to my wife, my daughter would finally get to sleep around 9.
Took my girls on their first "canoe" trip. About an 8 mile float. There were a couple little rapids/waterfall areas. they had a blast, as did I. They will be four next month and I'm looking forwad to summertime activities with them.
Took youngest to a 5yo birthday party. We got the birthday kid a super soaker. I put it in a gift bag with Star Wars Force Awakens characters on it. My wife lectured me saying "is it a Star Wars party? Is it a Star Wars present? No. You shouldn't use that bag. It's off theme." The only other bags we had were either too big or too small. I told it was stupid not to use the Star Wars one where it fit perfectly. She said as I left, "You're going to get embarrassed with that bag." At the party, there was a present in a legit hefty garbage bag and one that said fucking "Noel" on it. I was not embarrassed.
April can get fucked. 3.5 yo has had dbl ear infection and strep in the last couple of weeks. Now my 3 month old has RSV and an ear infection. Help me God.
Got a bracelet for her birthday and she lost it. Got her. A ring for the baby's bday that's is still in her possession... as far as I know
nice, had no idea they did that. Smart on their part, that was the biggest issue facing them, all the waste the cups were generating.
8 y/o has been driving my wife and I nuts lately. He's basically turned into a smart ass fucking asshole who questions literally everything we say or ask him to do and has a shitty excuse when he messes up/spills/literally anything that could be construed as negative instead of taking any responsibility. God help us.
our kids have been sick for the past week. neither one of us has slept at all. today is our 7th anniversary and we both forgot this morning.
Our 18 month old slept till 8:30 AM on Saturday and 8AM on Sunday. It was glorious. After a year and half of him waking up at 6AM roughly every day, being able to sleep in on a weekend was amazing. Especially after a happy hour on Friday that didn't end till midnight.
Where can I look for competitive soccer teams for 3-yr olds? Is there such a thing? My little one is 2, soon to be 3, but he has been playing since he could walk. He is really good and I don't want to put him in a City league or a stupid class that will teach him just how to control the ball as he is way past that. He is doing a once a week "class" at his preschool that he wasnt supposed to be eligible for as it is for 3+ but the coach allowed him to try it out and accepted him immediately. Any help would be appreciated.
