No recs on this? My brother and I are going to the Saints/Seahawks game and looking for a quick bite pregame. Never been but that braised beef po boy look nice
They're the same folks that have been slinging po boys out of Erin Rose forever. Not been to their own shop, we split a shrimp and a braised beef poboy at Erin Rose back in April and it was everything I remembered it to be and more. Can get a nice bloody or frozen Irish coffee at Erin Rose too.
Sitting at the bar at Mr. B’s right now. Great call/recommendation. Edit: I’ve never been as messy as I was when eating the shrimp, but it was delicious. Sopping up the juice with the bread? Chef’s kiss.

Solid list. If they are going to make a list that includes bars, I feel like you have to include Jewel of the South. I prefer to sit at the bar. Overall, I'd prefer Cure as it's a little more laid back, but I think Jewel is a "must go" for folks who dig cocktail bars.
Where would be the best place to post-up and watch the Saints game this afternoon? Driving over now, gonna snag lunch at either Cochon or Mahoney's.
I would go with Bayou Beer Garden, Uptown Bulldog, Rusty Nail, and maybe even Tchoup Yard over Tracey's
Not sure what age has to do with anything. They were asking for a good place to watch the game. And makes Tracey's any different than those other places?
Always want to try something different, but that damn Cubano calls my name...and the duck pastrami sliders.
I trust Eater.com with all my food choices. Hit up the New Orleans 2022 Restaurant of the Year, Queen Trini Lisa's, caribbean food. https://nola.eater.com/2022/12/1/23...winners-new-orleans-best-new-restaurants-bars https://www.queentrinilisa.com/ It was really cool, I was the only person in there and they asked how I found it (not in a great neighborhood) -- told them they won Eater's restaurant of the year, they were completely unaware. Lisa screamed and gave me a hug when I showed her the website Got the special - stewed chicken, rice-n-beans, macaroni, fried plantains. Phenomenal, but I need to take a nap now Spoiler
Avenue pub (new ownership) and revel (closed for Covid) are now back open If u haven't been to revel u need to go
I liked Avenue Pub the couple times I visited it, what happened there? I saw the Courtyard owner post about it a day or two ago.
I'm not sure. I was just shared this earlier today https://www.nola.com/entertainment_...cle_42412e98-71af-11ed-aa64-9f02aa49683d.html apparently under the new ownership they've revamped their menu
I love Seattle, but the BBQ scene absolutely blows. Blue Oak is the best BBQ I've had in a decade. Maybe longer
I spent way too much time and money in there at the first of the month. It’s one of my must-dos in NO.
Checked out Costera and Music Box Village for the first time this weekend. I enjoyed the layout of Costera and thought the menu was balanced as far as tapas and entrees go (I highly recommend the blue crab radiatori and red snapper crudo). Music Box Village completely blew me away as far as a venue. It feels like a cross between the fort from the Mad Max film meets Where The Wild Things Are. 9ers Gang was excellent for that venue.
Ah I wanted to check out Music Box Vilage when I was down there this year but couldn't make it. Did get to JAMNOLA which was cool but not comparable I don't think.
Has anyone tried this? I think the Blue Oak guys may own it or have a part in it. https://instagram.com/avenuepubneworleans?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Staying at my place tonight before driving back tomorrow - probably going to hit this up during the afternoon.
Have some hard music decisions this weekend: Friday, 12:30 Billy Strings - UNO Kermit Ruffins - Blue Nile Donald Harrison - Sweet Lorraine’s Saturday, 12/31 Billy Strings - UNO Kermit Ruffins - Blue Nile Soul Rebels - Madison Galactic - Tipitina’s
