There are roadies that go with this “set”. The yellow helmet in the mock I’ve seen looks like it could be really terrible.
Baylor’s move from a true gold to a yellow they call gold makes this annoyingly too common, agreed. That said, the yellow collar was a self-inflicted wound by Nike/UO.
The golds on these match about as well as they probably could. The pants on our normal uniforms don’t match because UA only makes pants in a matte texture, instead of the old metallic type you’d get from older uniforms. Why UA won’t budge on that? I don’t know.
Nike wont either. Some bullshit about it being because of the materials they use now. The shiny material wasnt as breatheable and cool as the new material. Im positive the real reason was it probably cost them a nickel more to produce the better material than it does the crap they make now.
Yep, same reason they use single layer screen printed “tackle twill” for two color numbers instead of two layer twill. They sell the fact that it’s lighter, but the reality is it’s just a major cost savings measure.
Gratuitous use of gold for garish decoration. So the uniforms are inspired by their churches. Makes sense then.
Purple, gold and sort of yellow have always been the hardest colors for manufactures to match consistently. People think it’s bad now, but woof, the Showtime Lakers purple tops/bottoms were so bad.
I think I remember an ND fan saying they and Fla state were not allowed to do sparkly gold pants anymore for some reason. edit: ah got Nolesc’ed :(
Discussion already taking place on this page. Remember when refs made SCAR change their Under Armour military jerseys during pregame warmups because the numbers were illegible and thus illegal?
It’s a night game, but still will be a nightmare for announcers in the booth. These are new/different photos which show more details
Yeah this was the worst ever. Had we won that game though... (2012, entered the game undefeated after the big win over Georgia)
They were horrible, but had we won I'd have found something to like about them. They made us look kind of like Colossus from Xmen out there.
