    i thought the flywire thing was part of the physical uniform design, not cosmetic, so maybe nike has moved on from it. most nike teams are all wearing the same jersey, basically.

    That's the line they sold to everyone when they first started with that template. Looking back Im not sure I believe it. I think it was just some design shit they liked and forced it off on teams. I do know that shit is on the inside waistband of the pants. All it does is help keep the jersey tucked in and maybe help keep the elastic a little more stretchy for longer. But seeing as that's all it does, I have no idea why they needed it on the collar.
