ive rescued squirrels before but only held them briefly until they could go to the proper rehab facility. I guess if you're knowledgeable you could do it in your home. This lady who lives next door to my friends lake house is like an official state of SC rehab person and always has all these fucking ducks and geese and such
Airport noise From 7 a.m. to 7:20 a.m. They launched 10 Jets out of there. What's going on with our local Airport you would think it's LAX now. A bunch of responses about how that is normal in the morning and we live near an airport. Then this: Debbie Morris, The Eastside·4h agoNew For all of you digital warriors out there with repressed anger issues - why not just pass on posting if you have nothing useful or nice to say. It’s seems like nextdoor has become a venue for undersexed angry people to vent at the expense of our neighbors that are posting questions. I’ve lived here since before the airport was built and yes it has been louder lately. For those of you who claim to have lived here a long time - maybe it’s time to get your hearing checked Eric Kuyper, The Eastside·4h agoNew Debbie, why undersexed? Are you suggesting that increased fornication could assist in the civility of this website? I mean, I'm willing to try, take one for the team and all, it's just not the causality I would have assumed.
My brother found 3 while working (he works in surveying) and took them home. We told him to take them to someone who could actually take care of them. He finally did after his dog ate one and he accidentally stepped on another. He sucks.
Had a good one the other day where a mom was asking for tattoo parlor recommendations. A handful of Jesus people began begging her not to disgrace the body that God gave her with a tattoo. Good stuff.
as you know that's what you get when you put noise restrictions on the airport Edit: For those not familiar, John Wayne Airport aka SNA has a noise restriction from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, so no flights. They still have flights scheduled for 6:30 am to 6:59 am, but the second it flips over to 7:00 am it's just a take off line of planes. It's been like this for years.
And they floor it to get enough altitude quickly to get above the restrictions. It’s one of my favorite airports to takeoff from.
Not sure where else to post this and it doesn’t deserve its own thread. So I have a shitty neighbor. They are on the next street over but our houses back up to each other. They have always been “the loud” house. Which I generally just tolerate because it’s temporary. However, they recently built a skateboard ramp and it’s as close to my house as they can put it with the open back (and sound) facing my house. It’s hard to describe the sound but I guess I would say similar to the sound a speeding train makes when the railroad ties slap down. It’s truly just a very loud and grating sound, a bang bang every time they go up and down the ramp. Every thirty seconds, for hours on end. I can hear it over a loud TV and in my closet which is through three walls including a fireplace. It’s driving me insane. I tried the nice neighbor go and talk to them routine and the cunt wife was a cunt wife. I’ve called the police and they hate them as well but say it’s really difficult to enforce (need sound meter, etc to cite). Trying to weigh my options here. I can just grin and bear it until it makes me flip and kill their child, myself or the wife. I can keep calling the cops. I can sue them. I can purchase five cases of air horns and return the favor. I can move. Any other thoughts? I can’t deal with this shit for five years though. Few extra details. Very upscale neighborhood (humble brag), no real HOAs, wealthy prick (powerful) lawyer neighbor, all the neighbors hate them.
You can’t change your neighbors obviously. I would be most concerned about when you try to sell. A skate ramp in the backyard would be a huge turnoff for a potential buyer. In the interim I would look into purchasing tall/thick shrubs. Getting them out of sight should be job one. Thick shrubs additionally should help dissipate the sound to some degree.
Unfortunately (and somewhat fortunately) I already have a wall of vegetation between us. We can’t see each other’s houses so the visual isn’t an issue. Just the sound. I can’t imagine the kids are into skateboarding for too long but another six months is pretty much a no go at this point. Hatterasjack edit add on: they also have a large circular part to their driveway. When I suggested moving it to the other side and pointing it the other way the wife responded with “well then our next door neighbors are going to get upset”. I just looked at her is disbelief. They suck.
See if you can find some industrial strength skunk spray. Then get a remote controlled misting fan. Whenever they start up, push the button.
The question is really just how you're going to fuck up that ramp. Some type of Molotov cocktail seems like the play
One more fun fact. The acoustics are such that I can hear their conversations when they are out near their pool very clearly. I know the wife is having an affair. I have more than once considered telling the husband about the “other noise” I have heard if this doesn’t get worked out.
Bird seed. Chuck handfuls over at the ramp, kids will get sick of cleaning shit off after awhile and give up skateboarding.
Brad, SALAD? Was my house the only door this guy knocked on wanting to sell FRESH TOSSED SALAD? if anyone else had this knock at the door please let me know. Thanks
Yeah, all the vegetation between our lots blocks out the view of the ramp. If you are referring to the wife, would love to find those.
The Village Idiot is taking his RAGE out on the neighborhood animals I know many of you have read my various posts & rants regarding the 'Village Idiot", who lives across the street. He has hit a NEW LOW, even for him. Amongst his collection of Junk and salvage vehicles parked in his yard he has an old salvage boat that he was given and towed home a year or so ago. He Now has complained to Animal Control that 'Our Cats' have destroyed his boat by getting in it etc.etc. The only way you could hurt that pile of junk would be to put it in a lake and watch it sink from the condition it was in when he received it. The 'cats' he speaks of are the Ferral Cats that we and many others feed in the neighborhood. The Mama cat and her one kitten have picked our house as their main source of heat as they can get under our house, which is fine with us. They keep the ground squirrel poplulation under control and are begining to trust us enough to not run too far when a door is open. Now we are watching Animal Control with cages across the street trying to catch them and we are praying they get away to safety. He is a very cruel sick person who has way too much time on his hands and so does his live in companion who promotes his sick behavior. Which of course is 90% of the time directed at us, since I was his sperm doner. But ya know his mother flushed the best part of him down the toilet and the best thing he could do would be to change his name and MOVE.
He called the Enviromental Police!! Jason Shipp Owns the property. We have tried to get him to realize that 'Hunter" is a bad seed, a bad tenant and if he is caught selling drugs from that house they will take his property. He believe we are just being dramatic. We KNOW this person, better than most. HE will destroy everything he touches in order to get his way as he is a Narcisistic Personality and cares about no one or no thing other than himself. I and the rest of the family had to severe ties with him, after trying so many times to help him change his life. Now he is after revenge on the family and will not stop until he destroys our lives if he can. The Enviromental Police, have been informed of his filth and the city via 311 have turned the reports over to them but that was back in August on the 31st and still nothing is done. Yet he calls animal control to make a bogus complaint and they are out in force stating if a claim is made they MUST follow up. Well I sure would like to know when we get our follow up. We have complained to the police, to the Mayor, when Bell was in office, to City Hall to Environmental Police To the Home Owner....NADA...NOthing...
