For example, at my previous house there was a neighbor that would open the garage door and it was filled with like old dining room furniture, chairs, totes, stacks of clothes, etc etc. That's what I mean.
Okay, if you’re talking about residential areas, the suburbs, and assuming you’re not talking about random one off events like get togethers/parties/holidays - having a bunch of cars parked in front of a house regularly looks shitty/tacky/poor. Having so many cars that you have to park in front of neighbor’s homes is white trash level tacky/rude. If you have a large home, chances are you also have a long driveway, multi-car garage. So it’s unnecessary. If you have a smaller home, how many drivers/adults are you cramming in a 1500sqft two bedroom house? Only time I see that is mobile home parks and college towns/rental areas. And if you’re not living in one of those areas I can see how it bothers people. Beyond that, as previously mentioned there are other more legitimate reasons it’s a PIA - maintenance, mowing, edging, landscaping, wanting to have people over, etc.
Really though if you have several cars parked in your driveway with a garage filled with shit I'm judging the fuck out of you as a neighbor.
I'm talking about parking on the street in front of your own home. I'm not sure why that is shitty/tacky/poor but I dont really care what my neighbors do when it doesnt affect me
i enjoy the social dynamics of neighborhood home ownership i also enjoy how it destroys any desire to move into the burbs
We had one dude who built on the prime lot available. He built a 2 car garage house while every house on our street is 3 car garage. Not a huge deal except that his mother didn't allow for much driveway length bc 2 car garage floor plans are longer than wide bc they are intended for smaller lots. He has a f350 and a Dodge 250 jacked up so they won't fit in garage. He also has a Wrangler. There is always at least one of his trucks parked on the street. I like him but it kinda sucks to get my his truck sometimes. The selling agent hate him too bc they had an 800k house buyer walk bc they couldn't get his lot. So instead they got a 325k house.
Well what if you put a badass gym in your garage like hensleya Bo Pelinis? How do you feel about that?
Because they either have adequate garage/driveway space (tract home McMansions have minimum double driveways and multi-car garages) and are choosing not to use it OR they're six generations/extended relatives deep in a house far too small to accommodate that number of adults/drivers. I don’t care enough to do/say anything if it doesn’t affect me, but I’ll certainly pass judgement as that requires minimal effort/time. I’d also point out the people who do this aren’t generally parking an S or 500 series on the street. Make of that what you will.
Several households in my neighborhood have a garage filled with boxes and other random shit and end up parking 1-2 of their vehicles in the street. Fuck those people.
While we're complaining too much about petty stuff, people who mow their lawn and dont bag their clippings are the woat
Barbara look! Those poors are parking in their driveway again! Oh and hand me my tape measurer from the glove box I think their back bumper is invading the sidewalk by 6 inches and that's against city ordinances! I shall phone into the county magistrate as soon as we're home and request an inspection don't you worry Barbara. Close your eyes a lady shouldn't witness such atrocities your sensibilities are far too delicate.
I need to clarify...... he gave her a bunch of extra bottles (ie inventory) for her to use for her business?
It’s actually better for your lawn if you don’t bag the clippings. Just don’t be lazy and wait to cut your grass when it’s way too high and leave clumps of grass all over the place.
Not surprising you don’t know this but you’re not supposed to bag your clippings, they naturally fertilize your lawn. If you knew that you’d have a nice, green, thick, lush lawn like myself:
I told em it ain’t got no oil in it to leak! Is alright though, I kin use them cinder blocks to prop up the deck to our above ground pool.
Everyone always is amazed that I’m rich but I’m equally amazed how frivolously some people spend their money. I do my own taxes. I do my own pool chemicals. I fix my cars and change the oil. I make one giant pot of red beans and rice every two weeks and then eat leftovers at work for next two weeks I make a lot of wood working gifts for friends and family for bdays and holidays I do most all repairs around my house I provide my own medical care I torrance movies and tv shows online I reuse my clippings from each mow for natural/free fertilizer. The money we already own is the easiest money to create value with. You don’t owe any more taxes on it. It’s already yours. You don’t have to work any harder for it. You only have to do one thing, hang on to it and don’t let it go. That’s it. Everyone is in a constant battle to take your money, buy this, buy that, etc. every day you need to ask yourself who is going to win the battle for your money.
Thats my Mother-in-law's minivan. You can learn more about her here: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...own-thread-2017.162085/page-527#post-12460837 If you want to know more, let me know, and I'll you the story about her on the stairs with the fried chicken and the bible.
I am in fact too civilized to bag my clippings I let the peasant mother nature take care of them for me
